I know, I have the exact same problem. I've got so much work to do and no idea how to do it.

Have I reached my limit? I don't want to over adopt or work on a form only to have it canceled.

Sapphire is your fifth adoption, so you've hit the limit and would need to fill out an extra slot application to go for another character. :3

How often are people given those extra slots if they apply?

If you are using the characters you have adopted, you're usually approved for an extra slot. It's dealt with on a case by case basis.

Gotcha, gotcha. Is RP'ing/writing counted on a plane equal to art, or is there a preferred sort of "use"? x3

I hope I don't fall in love with another one x3.
Most people don't agree that I take care of my characters cause I don't buy tons of art for them. And I rarley RP.
But I do love them =/.
Neerah has her little rat friend made and I'm gonna try a family pic soon.

RPs and other writings are counted pretty much equally with art, since people use their characters in different ways and it would be sort of silly to say there is only one correct way to use a character. X3 Personally I think writing tends to show a stronger connection with the character, but then other people feel that art shows a stronger connection; it really comes down to personal choice and both are equally valid forms of expression.

The thing I really dislike about the 'proof of use' system is that it requires something tangible - most of my characters exist only in my mind or as very brief written summaries and have no art or writing of them yet, but I still think about them a lot, know their personalities and quirks inside and out, usually have most of their life story worked out in detail, and overall am very attached to them. If I had to provide proof of use for, say, my human character Dougie Coral, I wouldn't have a bean to show for him, even though he's one of my favourites. With the extra slot form, I'm mostly looking to see if the character seems loved, however the person chooses to express that - if you don't have art, writing/RPs or other tangible things with the character, you can describe other ways you use them, how you feel about them, what you love about them, etc. :3

I have a question, how to judge the forms? Like how long they are, the effort, the story, etc?

I really do agree with you Atwood!
It may sound stupid but I can almost feel my characters around me when I close my eyes and think about them.
I doubt I will fill out a form to adopt again but I said that after I got Mesi so that probley won't work.
I hope I don't fall in love again xD.
But then again TAN really does help me with my writing. I am trying to go all super experienced when I write the forms and I think I'm slowly improving x3.

YAY! It's really quite stupendously cool that this Smili that you had tried out for before was returned and you got her! Congratulations, Whey! C: Welcome into the realm of Smili owners. ^.^

I think music is about our internal life.
It's part of the way people touch each other.
That's very precious to me. And astronomy is,
in a sense, the very opposite thing. Instead of
looking inwards, you are looking out, to things
beyond our grasp.
