Every child has a destiny. Some become Coordinators; others become Rangers or Breeders; and yet some individuals move on to study Pokémon and become Professors. But we aren't Coordinators. We aren't Breeders, or Rangers, or Professors either. No, ever since we were little we all shared that same dream: to be the best Pokémon trainer to ever have walked the earth. To become a better trainer than even Ash Ketchum himself.

The Aurora Region
A lot has happened since Ash Ketchum, with his partner Pikachu, became the Pokémon Master The world of Pokémon is slowly changing; evolving into a new era where battling isn't just a sport, a game... but a way of life. A many years ago, a new Region was found. It was called the Aurora Region, and the people there were far more advanced than the rest of the world. They had a different way of doing... just about everything. Including battling. Slowly our worlds merged. Those from the Aurora Region were more than happy to share their way of life. And so, the Aurora Tech Academy (ATA) was constructed. Young trainers from all over the world were enrolled into ATA, eager to learn this strange new way of battling. But there was a catch. Only those with pure hearts, only those who truly loved Pokémon and could truly form a bond with their team, could activate the power needed to advance through the ranks of students. Many failed and dropped out; even more would take their place. Only the truest trainers graduated. In the past ten years, this equalfifty, maybe sixty students. Slowly, the number of students flowing in dropped. But every year, more hopefuls come. Are you one of them? Or will you rise above your classmates and prove that you are the best of the best?

RULES

°You may have any Pokémon from any Region.
°Pokémon may have six moves. No more than six though.
°This is a Semi-Literate rp. That means 9 lines (not sentences) without Writers Block and 6 lines with.
°Two characters only and they must be different gender and Pokémon type.
°No Powerplay or Godmodding.
°No Perfect Characters unless you're a Prodigy... and even then you should have flaws.
°The Pokémon type listed with each character is the type they specialize im but they can have other types as well.
°No cussing, no explicit scenes. This rp is rated PG. Maybe PG 13 but come on guys... it's Pokémon.
°Characters can be the Great Grand Children of people in the shows but only the two Prodigy students are related to Ash.

AURORA TECH ACADEMY
Better known as ATA (At-Tah), Aurora Tech Academy is a sprawling place that consists of a five story, medieval castle type building. The first floor is the administrative offices, the gym which takes up half the floor, and the Dining Hall. The second, third, and fourth floors have classrooms for subjects that range from Math, to the History of Pokémon, to the Great Pokémon Masters. The top floor is where they store the school's Pokémon. It's locked tight. Behind this, are two smaller, more modern buildings. The boy and gir dormitories. Each are three stories high, the lower level consisting of a Rec area, a small kitchen, and the lobby. Students are one to a room, and permitted to decorate as they please. Behind these building are the Courts, five battle courts with remote settings to change the field type so that students may practice as they please.


AURORA BATTLING
The Aurora Region's way of battling is like nothing you have ever seen before. Trainers wear headsets that allow them to communicate mentally with their Pokémon. This is called Pokécation (Pokémon Communication). Strapped to their arm is a device linked to their Pokémon with a list of current moves, stats, health, any point of injury... basically everything to know about the Pokémon. Trainers usually click a move on their Poké Pad, communicating with their Pokémon that way though they can also use commands mentally. Battling without the Poké Pad and Pokécation is almost unheard of these days, though it is still possible. However the biggest event of all, and what all the ATA students are training for, is the Aurora Cup.

THE AURORA CUP
The Aurora Cup is a physical and mental series of events, for both the trainers and their Pokémon. It's basically the olympics of the Pokémon world. There are four stages, and they can come in any order, each testing something different:

Fire; The fire round is a race. Two trainers each are places above a volcano in an intricate maze of metal bridges. The trainers and their Pokémon must race against the other group dodging fireballs and the attacks of their opponents as they try to reach the end of the maze. A team can win one of two ways. They reach the end of the maze first, or they knock out their opponent's Pokémon. However, a trainer is allowed six Pokémon and can choose to use another Pokémon in the event that their's faints.

Ice/Water; This field can have any combination of water and ice, which makes it more difficult. No one can predict what the field will look like. The water/ice round is a simple double battle. A trainer loses in the event that both of their Pokémon faint, though again they have the option of switching Pokémon out.

Ground/Rock; The ground/rock stage takes endurance and strength. It is, again, a race. Two trainers race against each other to the top of a mountain, dodging boulders, rockslides, and attacks from their opponent. The first to reach the top or knock out their opponent wins.

Forest/Grass; This stage is all about teamwork. Trainers are paired up into teams of two and deposited in various locations throughout an indoor forest.Trainers must work together eliminating the last few teams. The last team standing is returned to the arena where they will rest up before having a final battle against each other. It will be a full on six Pokémon battle and the winner is crowned the Aurora Cup King or Queen.

Teddi is a stubborn, feisty girl with a competitive nature. She was born to be a Pokémon Master just like her father and she doesn't plan on letting anyone, not her Cousin and definitely mot The Hothead, take that away from her. Teddi is fiercely protective. She stands up for her friends no matter what and would leap to their defense in a heartbeat. She isn't much of a girly girl, bit she makes up for her lack of femininity with spirit and a raw passion for battling. Teddi can be extremely rash and impulsive, leaping headfirst into battles without a second thought. In this way, she is nearly identical to her great grandfather. Despite her general lack of planning, it is rare for her to lose a battle. Both she and her Pokémon put their all into every match, and they never ever give up. Teddi does have a soft side, surprisingly. She can be incredibly compassionate, treats the Energetic One like a kid sister, and treats all Pokémon with.love and affection. She just has a time expressing herself to humans. She is argumentative, temperamental, and she rarely listens to reason but she has a heart of gold and never let's her friends down no matter what.
History;;
Teddi was born to John Ketchum (Son of Reese Ketchum and Grandson of Ash Ketchum) and his Wife Margaret Ketchum, the night of December 19th in the Kalos Region. Her mother Margaret swore she looked like a little Teddiursa, with her honey brown hair and the odd crescent moon shaped birthmark on her forehead. And so, John and Margaret named her Teddiursa. Teddi's parents were Pokémon photographers, and their jobs took them to different regions a lot. So Teddi was exposed to many different ways of life from a young age. That's how she met the Firecracker, The Stuntman, and her cousin's friend, The Hothead. The five became close friends, though Teddi was often arguing with The Hothead. As they got older they would often go on trips together. Teddi was always leading the others into mischief... particularly mischief that involved wild Pokémon. Right from the start though, it was clear she had a gift when it came to Pokémon. They adored her, and she them. Older they got and they began borrowing their parents' Pokémon in order to battle one another. One battle in particular was with The Hothead. Even their parents gathered to watch them battle it out. Teddi almost won too, but in the end she lost and that only seemed to fuel their strange rivalry even more.

Her first name is the blood red birthstone of January which is said to mean success, her middle name is Sorrell, which means red-brown and her surname, obviously from her father means to light.. A girl of but seventeen years. Born on the 12th of January this girl is known as a capricorn. Positives of her personality include her independence as she will quite happily fend for herself if worst comes to worst, although she does love being around people and so being isolated for long periods of time would not bode well with her. Personality

Atlas, better known as Al, is a free spirit. Much like the Pokemon that accompany him he does what he wants and wont list to reason. He lives for the moment and the rush that comes with it. A lot of people would refer to him as a daredevil but he prefers the term; Adrenaline junkie. Most of the time you can see him goofing off with his Pokemon but its never a dull moment. He has a habit, it seems, of wanting to be able to seem limitless. If a challenge it put in front of him he will not hesitate to accept and concur it. The ways he goes about doing that, however, are another story. While he may have his book smarts he is rather lacking in the common sense department. He feels like he is indestructible most of the time and ends up paying the price for it. Often one to be seen in the infirmary he always has a new injury to brag about. Ever since he was young he was jumping head first into things. The ideas he comes up with are almost as insane as his hair color, which by the way is dyed. His Pokemon often reflect the good and the bad inside of him. They go along with his ideas and more often than not save him from himself. He is the type of guy to not see consequences in his actions. It would be only after that the realizations hit him. You could say he has little care for his own safety, which is true in a way, but he does care deeply for those around him. As he was always an odd ball growing up he had few friends. Most of the time it was the adults who told their children to stay away from him. Simply because they didn't want their children to get caught up in his antics. There are those rare few that do enjoy his company and often encourage his stupid ways. He is fiercely protective of his friends and Pokemon alike. With reckless abandonment he would take a bullet for them if need be. That being said his protectiveness knows no bounds. He doesn't know when enough is enough. Only when someone actually tells him to stop is when he might stop. Atlas also has a problem with letting things go. If something is bothering him he will figure out why, or possibly annoy everyone until they give him the answer. Contrary to his ridiculous way of life he is actually a serious person when it comes to battling. Almost like a switch has been flipped Al turns into a very competent person during a battle. He is very know how on battle tactics and knows how to use the terrain to his advantage. Flying types being his favorite he has adapted many different styles of battle over the years and isn't afraid to play rough. While he isn't a winning obsessed type of guy he does enjoy the feeling of accomplishment he gets when he does win. To most people he isn't a very emotional guy. He tends to keep his emotions to himself and plasters a smile across his face. Because of this its hard to tell what he is really feeling. In font of others he refuses to get upset or angry. Its only when hes alone does he let his guard down. Despite this he isn't one to be sad for long. He gets over things quickly and bounces back with relative ease.

History

Atlas grew up in the Unova region. He is at heart a city kid but he does enjoy the outside world more. His family was small but close. Unlike most children Al was raised by just his father. A man who, like Atlas, was a thrill seeker. His mother had passed away when he was very young. The only memory he really has of her is the color of her hair; Honey blonde. He also does not have any siblings, but he was never lonely. At a very young age his father had given him a Pokemon to take care of. It was to teach him responsibility. The Pokemon given to him was a tiny newborn rufflet. The two got along so well it was impossible to separate them. At any given time of day the two were messing around and causing trouble for everyone. It didn't take long for the two to start coming home with cuts and bruises. His father never once scolded him for it either. Instead he encouraged his behavior. A lot of other parents questioned if his father was raising him properly but Al never once complained. He loved his father dearly and looked up to the man. As time went on Al started taking interest in Pokemon aerobatics. Something that he still does to this day. He was never taught by someone all his tricks of the trade were self taught and he is proud of it. Something else also caught his eye; Pokemon battles. Like all kids his age he loved Pokemon. However he also loved to battle with them. His father had caught on to this and decided to send Al to a trainer's school. Of course Al hated the idea but went anyway. He was a quick learner, still is, but he never enjoyed school. Most of his free time was spent practicing and of course, goofing off. It was by his goofing off that he met a lot of his close friends. There was one girl in particular that he admired. She was always so full of energy and almost never stopped moving. Often refereed to as 'The Energetic One' he enjoyed her company. Despite his kiddish crush the girl never thought of him as anything more than a friend. Instead the girl had fallen for one of his friends. Which was a blow to his ego. Still in the back of his mind he wishes she would notice him, at least once. Around the time he was fourteen the doctors diagnosed him with Sickle cell anemia, which both of his parents were carriers for unbeknownst to them. For the most part it doesn't bother him. Its only when he has an episode, which induces extreme pain in his chest, that he actually has any symptoms from it. The only person who knows he actually has this disease is his father. He has yet to tell any of his friends, and isn't going to if he can help it.
