Carnival took a place next to her. He lay his front leg awkwardly with the wound still healing. He didn't feel tried enough to fall asleep. Maybe he should talk to Flamepool. "Hey Flamepool, do you want to talk or are you too tired?"

Flamepool rolled over so that she was facing Carnival. "Yes, what do you want to talk about?"

"Um well, why don't you tell me a little about yourself? what kind of friends would we be if we don't know anything about each other?" He mewed. Staring straight outside the den.

[Pika Girl]

Flamepool paused to think for a moment. "Well, I guess you could say I'm outgoing and get into quite a lot of trouble. As a kit, I used to sneak up behind the elders and pounce on their tails!" She let out a slight mrrow of amusement. "That's not all either! I once put mouse bile in my father's bedding. I got into so much trouble for that. I had to take care of the elders for a whole moon!" She looked over at Carnival, eyes gleaming with happiness. "What about you? I hardly know anything about you."

Carnival gave a small laugh while Flamepool was explaining herself. He responded to her question. "Well I guess you could say I'm a troublemaker too." he mewed slyly. "I would always go picking fights with bigger dogs and cats when I was a small kit. My mother always scolded at me for coming home with scratches. I still do the same to this day. I always imagine my mother scolding me for fighting and leaving with scars." He stopped. " I have a larger past but its all behind me. I'm a different cat now." Carnival finished. 'that's all she needs to know. Everything is behind me. Nothing worth brining up.'

Flamepool smiled and said, "You sounded like a pawful just like me." She began to purr contently. "You get even more mysterious the more I try to figure you out." She lay her head down on her paws and said sleepily, "Lets get some rest. I'm sure Blackstar is going to send us on the dawn patrol. We will need to wake up earlier than usual."

"Alright." Carnival purred. He tucked his paws underneath himself and started to close his eyes. 'This life shouldn't be too bad. I'll fit in and prove I can be just like them." He finally started to drift to sleep. 'I can finally be normal.'

The next day was full of excitement. Flamepool's mother had given birth to two tiny she kits and Carnival had managed to catch a huge rabbit. All was good in Shadow Clan.

Carnival and Flamepool weren't assigned on any patrols so they took a stroll through Shadowclan territory. Flamepool being the guide, showing good hunting and hiding places in the territory.

Later, Flamepool had gone to visit the kits. "Would you like to meet them?" She asked. Without waiting for an answer, Flamepool had poked her head inside the nursery.
