Jaywing stopped when he came upon a particularly odd pool of blood. He sook the dust out of his eyes. He stared down at the words, for a long, long time.
I'm sorry, Jaywing.

He collapsed to the side of he path. He felt as if his life had been stolen. He'd given away his heart, and it had formed onto three words.

Firepaw looked out. Lonely. He looked down.

Larkpaw felt terrible. It wasn't that she didn't love Jaywing, she loved him with all her heart. It was just she knew she wasn't good enough for him. The very first cat he'd probably tell was Moonstar. Oh well. But it couldn't hurt to follow Jaywing, leave him a few messages, right? Sighing, she watched Jaywing from her hiding place.

Jaywing pulled himself up from the ground. In the blood he left his own message. He cast a glance around the trees. "I won't forget." He whispered, turning and padding towards the stream.

When Jaywing moved on, Larkpaw came out to the pool of blood.

Tears streaked down her face, Larkpaw took a short cut back to camp. Everyone must be out or busy, as the camp was practically deserted. She smiled. Leaving another message in the middle of the camp.

Coalpelt stalked a finch.She pouned on it with a killing bite.

Jaywing stood over the message, a sly smile on his face. "Not if I find you first." He whispered. He turned, and in no rush, padded out of camp. He wouldn't let that annoying fur ball get hurt.

Larkpaw smiled as Jaywing left the camp. "You can try..." she mewed. "A game of cat and... ummm cat!" with that, she disappeared into the bushes. "I know! I'' go somewhere and leave a clue!"

Larkpaw ran to the stream, and beside it left,

Then, she turned tail and ran to where the dogs had attacked her.

Larkpaw reached the place that had the dogs. Luckily, they were inside today. She leaped over the fence, and hid in a bush. Waiting for Jaywing to come. Her head was light, blood was still flowing from her cuts.
