My mother was a pokemon ranger, just fresh out of the Academy in Sinnoh.
She was one of the youngest students to become a ranger in her year.
Her pokemon partner was a quiet but thoughtful Luxray named Calyx.

They had been friends since she was born.

Together they worked hard to protect human and pokemon kind alike.
My mother loved her job with all her heart, always willing to help thoughs in need,
she also loved to explore like me.

Father says that is were I get my sense of adventure from.
So when HQ offered her a position in Unova, she jumped on the first boat over.

In an early summer day, my mom saw my father for the first time.

He was a strange man, he looked like he belonged in a gang in the city then simply living in a forest alone.
He had medium-long brown hair, with one dark brown eye, and a black leather eye patch covering his right eye.
He wore black an uncommon and original blue suit with a long, blue sleeveless trench coat with a wide collar that
has white outlining the edges, with black slacks and black dress shoes.

My father was assisting the local rangers in the White Woods, leading them though the twist and turns of this large forest.
She thought that he was very different from other people, with his rugged appearance and cocky, yet gentle personality.
This is how them meet...

It was quiet this morning. The mist was hovering above the ground like a purrlion stalking it's prey. Dew dripped from the long blades of grass, soaking the ground as the droplits slid down the thin green blade and splash onto the dirt below. A few of the pidove were starting their morning ritual. Greed's black ear's caught the sounds of flapping wings and the thrill of different songs as they called to one another. But it was still to quiet. Moving from his temporary hidden home the illusion fox began his stretches, pulling one back leg as far as it would go, before switching to his other leg. Letting out a loud yawn Greed slowly stood up on his hind legs, his thick black and red tip mane brushing against his back as he rose.

Today was the day, the day he let thoughs humans, thoughs rangers as they called themselves into his home and forest to help with the matter at hand. Greed growled lowly, pinning his ears back as his one good eyes focus ahead. Damn it..he didn't want anybody's help! He was the powerful Zororark! Ruler of all in this white wooded land, king of all the pokemon that lived here, the god of all! But..even he could not offer any protection against mother nature. A hurricane had blow though the White Forest not three days ago, destroying anything unlucky enough to stand in it's wrathful path. All he and the other pokemon could do was hide until the dark mass left the sanctity of their lands and headed elsewhere. Once the pelting rain and howling wind subsided he and the other came upon what was once their home.

Large tree's had fallen over in different angles, broken and splinted like useless matchsticks. The river now ran brown and black from all the mud and dirt that seeped into it's once clear stream. Several caves had collapsed, forcing many rock, dark, and other cave pokemon from their homes. The collapsed caves had resulted in an avalanche, causing more chaos. The avalanche had covered a three aches area, covering trees, streams, and even pokemon under a thick layer of dirt, rocks, and clay. What was not covered in dirt was flooded, looking like a ocean in some parts. In all, the once peaceful forest as a picture of a deserted war zone, barren, chaotic, and those that had survived almost regretted it seeing how there was little to no food left. Once the survives saw that their lord was still alive they rushed to his side, crying in a thousand voices to help, to heal them, to feed them. Help, help, help!

Gritting his fangs together, Greed rounded those that had lived to a giant white tree that was off in the far side of the valley. To the resident of the forest it was called 'The Star', to humans it was called 'The Tree Of Ages'. It was a massive tree, reaching over 367 feet, it's trunk was so wide it's said that you need fifty humans to link arms to wrap around the whole tree. It's branches were just as big, and spanning over a length of 20 feet or more. Glowing moss spotted the starlit tree, giving it an even brighter glow then most of the tree. At night it was one of the brightest things around, hence why it was called the star.

Once Greed had them settled into their temporary home he left the forest and headed to Black City. Transforming into his human form, Greed made the anonymous call to the HQ of rangers. He had heard from pokemon before how they helped distressed pokemon from disasters such as this, and without capturing them either. This was good he thought as he placed the call, shoulder the pay phone on his shoulder, he didn't want any humans taking any of his possessions, or try to take him for that matter. If there was one think Greed hated, it was people stealing his things. Taking a deep breath to calm himself, Greed could hear the telephone tone ring, once, then twice, then-

"Thank-you for calling Rangers HQ in Unova, how my I help you?"

Anxiety filled the young Pokemon Ranger's body as she tapped a rhythm with her old and worn leather boots as the bus continued to sway and bump over the potholes and cracks that had been caused by the hurricane that hit the southern and eastern coast of Unova over the past week or two. The world outside was devastating; houses caved in, bridges split in half, trees pulled out from the ground and the roads in pieces. The sight brought sorrow into Amary's heart as she finally got herself to look away from the damage that laid proof outside the sides of the bus. She wouldn't usually be taking a bus to the sights that call to her attention, but it was just as unsafe walking out in the streets as it was taking the bus through the city and along the side roads; she thought she might as well just take the bus to make the time to get there shorter.

The girl had been called out to the White Forest Ranger Station Headquarters, otherwise known as WFRSH (if that's any better), because the forest was one of the major parts of Unova that had been hit by the storm. She'd been told that trees lay flat along the trails, wild pokemon are in hiding due to fright of such an event, the rivers were flooding and the color of mud, and, the most important piece, was that the Tree of Ages had indeed taken damage due to the storm. This tree was one that the people of Unova called a legend; reaching higher that 360 feet and having a diameter of around 20 feet, itself. The White Forest Rangers are worried about the tree, not sure whether is made the storm or not, and, even if it had made the storm, it was still likely that it had been damaged. Therefore, they called out to various Pokemon Rangers around the region to accompany them through the forest with one guide who was known to know the forest so well, he might as well have lived in it.

Glancing down, Amary saw her dearest friend, and trusty partner, Calyx. The Luxray had been with her nearly her entire life; going through all the stages of life, up until now. It was obvious, seeing as the pokemon's claws were stuck into the bus's floor and her tail wrapped tightly around her like a Purrlion would do, that she liked riding the bus no more than it's trainer did, herself. Placing one of her hands on the pokemon's spiky black mane, she smiled down at her beloved pokemon. "I promise we wont take the bus again. It's just faster to take the bus rather than walking, and we need to be there fairly soon." The Luxray let out what sounded like a pokemon-version of a sigh and the Pokemon Ranger could only laugh in return. It was always fun being a trainer with a pokemon as anxious to get off the bus as she was.

Amary returned her eyes to the moving world outside the bus when Calyx returned to sleeping, trying to avoid the feelings and anxiety it got being on the bus. At the sight of all the dark streets, black buildings and neon signs, she concluded that they were passing through Black City. The girl remembered coming to the city with her father as a young girl. He was on a business trip, though she never knew what it was that her father sold, but, either way, he made enough money to care for and support his family. She remembered the rather.. interesting.. people she had come across; ranging from various dealers, to gamblers, to people so intoxicated that it still surprised her to this day that they had made it that long without passing out. Amary chuckled to herself as she thought about it; people did anything and everything in this city.

It wasn't long before the bus passed through the city and they were back on the roads that laid between each of the cities that covered the Unova Region. The White Forest Ranger Station Headquarters would be coming up soon and less than a mile away from the building would be the trails that lead deep into the forest, itself. The girl closed her royal blue eyes as the anxiety began building up inside her body once more. Was she ready for such a large task? With people she didn't know? What if they didn't like her? Or she didn't like them? Amary shook her head slightly at the thought; she couldn't be thinking that way.. at least not yet. When the Pokemon Ranger opened her eyes again, the bus was just beginning to slow down in front of the Ranger Station.

As she grabbed her large orange backpack that contained all of the items that she would need while on this trip, she nudged the electric-type pokemon with the front of her boot softly. As a response, the Luxray only grunted and let out a slight growl before turning its head away from its trainer and continuing on with its sleep. Rolling her eyes slight, Amary nudged the pokemon a but harder with her foot and said out loud, "There is a time to be lazy, but now is not that time. Come on, we're nearly late." Reluctantly, the pokemon finally raised from its laying position and stretched out with a small yawn escaping her mouth. After smiling down at her pokemon, the Pokemon Ranger cast her gaze to the opposite side of the bus where few people were already exiting. Without wasting anymore time, she glanced down to make sure had all of her belongings before slowing making her way towards the front of the bus where she offered the driver a small thanks and a nod full of gratitude before stepping off the bus with her pokemon at her heels.

From the outside the building couldn't look anymore bizarre, compared to the buildings around it. There were sculptures of various types of pokemon that were known to be in the forest, as well as a sculpture of the Tree of Ages. Kids from the surrounding neighborhoods were laughing and playing, daring each other to climb higher and higher up each of the sculptures. The sight brought a small smile to the young Pokemon Ranger's face. If only life was that easy; laughing and smiling as if the world was only fun and games with nothing to worry about. The smile left Amary's face almost as quickly as it appeared; it was a shame that the world would never be seen like that again. Turning her eyes away from the playing children, she continued forward towards the front doors to the building that stood nearly twenty feet in front of her.

When she entered the building, her eyes immediately went to the adults standing around the room who were in the same uniform as she was; some were around her age, but most were older. She wasn't sure how many people would actually be accompanying her and the guide through the forest, but she certainly hoped it wouldn't be this large of a group. Before making her way over to the wall where the others stood, she glanced down at Calyx to make sure the pokemon was content before she continued on. By the sound of it, she had made it just in time, because the person who seemed to be running the Ranger Station began speaking, telling the group of people about what was going on. Apparently more than half of the group would be staying back to do research on the river water, effected plants and hurt pokemon that they had come across around the edges of the forest. Only Amary and two others would be continuing into the forest with the guide(who would supposedly be meeting them by the forest entrance). Before she realized that the meeting had come to an end, people began filing out of the building and into the back where the labs were. Glancing around, she caught sight of one of her fellow rangers that would be going into the forest and decided to follow him out the front of the building.

The next ten minutes went by rather fast as she followed the small group down the wide gravel path towards the forest entrance. Every few minutes, the would look down at her pokemon to make sure she was doing okay (which she always was), then she'd take her time looking over the other rangers (taking note about how they were older than her by at least five years), then taking in the scenery (which wasn't anymore of a pleasant sight than the bus ride there). Before she knew it, the entrance to the White Forest stood only feet away, as did the guide. The guide. Amary's eyes widened at the sight.

A dark brown eye narrowed at the new comers as they approached closer to his home and kingdom. There was three of them in total. Greed couldn't help but scoff at the meager number. Was that it? This was all the mighty rangers could afford to bring them in their time of need? Cleo was right, humans were such foolish creatures. Roaming over the small group again, the pokemon in illusion could tell two of them were experienced with their line of work. You could tell by the way they walked, confident strides, with a relaxed body posture. Only one, the youngest one in fact, was the 'newbie' of the gang. Her body language was tight, ready to jump at a moments notice. Her eyes, he couldn't tell what color they were, too far always, were flicking up, down, left, right, and then back again. No doubt taking in all the damage and in shock of all the chaos that befell them. Her uniform was too clean, not a sight of stain marks or tears, unlike the other members. Her red and white clothing even smelled like soap, covering her nature scent.

"About time you guys showed up." The one eye man pushed himself off the few standing tree's in the forest.

"I was staring to get bored." He finished, a crooked smile flashed across his pale face. The team leader, who later introduced himself as Kai, laughed, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment.

"Hahaha, sorry about that. We had quite a bit of debris to travel though." Kai explained, stopping in front of the wild man. Greed scoffed, putting a hand on his broad hip as he looked them up and down, before cutting look behind them Team lead.

"So who are your little tag alongs?"

"Oh, right." Kai turn to the two women of the group.

"This is Clair O'neil, she and are will be the Team Lead's during the mission." Clair O'neil, a tall women with flowing blonde hair and light green eyes that seem to shine with happiness, nodded her head in greeting, a soft 'hello' escaping her light red lips. Greed hummed, nodding his head in turn while Kai introduced the last member of the team.

"And this young lady is Amaryllis Dane. She just graduated from Sinnoh's Ranger Academy, top of her class." Kai announced proudly, waving a hand to the shorter lady with straight dark blue hair. Now that he got a closer look at her, Greed saw that her eyes interesting shade of purple. The smell of soap hit his nose as he took a deep breath. Ah, so this was the nervous one he saw earlier. Seeing the still fiddling human girl, Greed though he 'help' her relax in his own special way.

"Hello ladies. The names Greed. Welcome to the White Forest of Unova, I'll be your handsome guide though this forest quest. I do hope you enjoy your stay here. Should you need any help feel free to call- I'm available day or night." He ended it with a flirtation wink, or what you might call a wink. It was hard to do something as easy was winking with just one eye. The message seem to get across despite the lack of two eyes, was Clair giggled softly behind her hand while Amaryllis, what a weird name he thought to himself, seem to turn an interesting shade of red.

Giving a final smirk to the lovely ladies Greed turn to Kai, his smile turning south. "Is this all you brought?" He muttered softly, narrowing his brown eye in anger at the Ranger's lack of members. Kai gulped at the dangours look their guide gave him. Shaking his head as hard as he could, Kai stuttered a quick, "N-no, no, we have other members, they just-just are back in the city doing tox test runs on the samples from the rivers and soil, t-to see if there is any abnormalities."

"Huh, is that so..." Greed growled. Kai nodded his head, beads of sweat staring down his neck under the taller man's gaze. After a few moments of silents Greed gave a sharp nod, then turn his back to them.

"Com'on, I'll show you to the Star. We can start there..." That said, Greed started his way back to the forest, his scrappy hair swaying back and forth as he walked.

The air seemed to go still just like the world went silent when she laid eyes on the guide that would be leading them into the the White Forest. He was so.. strange, yet pleasant to look like. His hair was rather messy; being unkempt and long enough that it skimmed his shoulder. It wasn't dirty, but wild-looking. He had one beautiful blue eye and the other was covered by some kind of eye-patch. The way he dressed was a bit odd, as well; wearing a sleeveless trench coat with clothes that were a bit different with them being fancier than how she thought he would dress after getting a good look at him. Strange and interesting were definitely the words to use when explaining his appearance, but explaining in a good way rather than a bad way.

The sound of her Luxray growling made Amary come out of her thoughts and pay attention to the world around her once more. Glancing down, she saw her pokemon still in a low crouch and letting out a slight growl. Following the pokemon's eyes to what she was looking at, she soon realized that it was the guide that Calyx was growling at. Nudging the electric-type pokemon with her leather boot, the pokemon immediately stopped growling and looking as if it were going to attack. Instead, it scooted closer to its trainer and narrowed her yellow and red eyes at the guide. What was up with her? Perhaps the lion-like pokemon was a wild pokemon behind the guide? That was the only logical explanation, seeing as that was the response she gave when she saw an opponent or enemy. Amary rolled her eyes, piqued, and settled them on Kai, their leader for the trip, as he began to introduce Clair, then herself.

When Kai introduced her, she couldn't help but bring her hands together in front of her, in attempt to stop the shaking that had just started in her hands. Amary had never been one to be nervous in front of crowds or other people. Instead, she was known to be confident and calm. Kai must'v noticed because, as he moved his hand away from her shoulder, he caught her eye and gave her a look that asked what was wrong or what's going on. Embarrassed, she moved her gaze to the guide, who was now speaking. His voice was deep yet smooth, one that she wouldn't mind hearing more often. She concentrated on what he said, attempting to rid her minds of distractions. He announced that his name was Greed; a unusual name, though it did not surprise her after taking in his appearance. Though she narrowed her eyes as he stated that he was available both day and night, not finding the perverted joke amusing like Claire had, she found her face growing warm; hopefully it wasn't noticeable.

As both Kai and Greed continued to converse about the lack of members that had come along, Amary let her eyes wander, taking in the scenery. She knew that the White Forest had been a beautiful sight; once of the things Unova was most known for. It was a shame that the hurricane had damaged the forest so much. There were still shrubs covering the ground off of the trail and wild flowing adding a touch of color here and there; but it wasn't enough to distract a human's eye from the fallen trees and dug-up dirt that covered more area than not. Amary exhaled a shaky breath as she returned her eyes to the guide--who was now saying something about some Star, whatever that was.

As the small group began to walk, she caught a glimpse of her Luxray. The pokemon was still watching Greed with a careful yet cautious glare. Having enough of the pokemon's attitude towards the man, she mumble a harsh 'stop' to the pokemon. It's behavior was ridiculous. Once the pokemon seemed to calm down enough, Amary quickened her pace to catch up with Greed. Once by his side, she shifted her eyes away from the man; not wanting him to read her nervousness. "So, your name is Greed? Is that a nickname or your actual name?" Not wanting the question to be rude, she voiced it in a calm and kind way. The question was genuine and came from her curiosity; wondering where it came from, if in fact it wasn't his real name. After a few moments, she took a gander at the man, trying to figure out what he was thinking, but his face was hard to read, unlike so many others. After concluding to herself that she wasn't going to be able to read him, she returned looking at the trail in front of them. "I know that Kai introduced me, but I thought that I'd do it myself. My name is Amaryllis, but most people just call me Amary since it can be hard to remember." Amary let out a slight chuckle, though it was more forced than not.
