Makoatl Fanclub - news 294

○ There are no limits to how many Makoatls you can own from this point on. There is no co-owning or trading Makoatls.

While I know everything is still a WIP and subject to change, I'm really excited by this addition to the rules in the 2.0 lineart. ^^

I currently own three makoatl - two male (Gamble, Enero) and one gender neutral but biologically male (Sai). They're definitely three of my favorite characters that I own - not just adoptable species but out of all characters period. However, I really want to add a female to the gang. I was reluctant to do so, though, because with only 1 space remaining I wanted to save it in case of emergencies. I duno what emergency I expected but.... yeah x3

Now I can finally get my dream gal without compromising the in case of emergency slot. I'm so flipping excited for the species to open so I can wait for the one!

I'm curious to see the breeding rules developed, too. Maybe one day I can breed my makos and keep a baby? That'd also be a great addition to my gang. We'll have to see what .Talon decides ^^

Anyway, I just want to give a big THANK YOU to .Talon and ALL of the makoatl artists and staff for all of the amazing work you do on this species. There is a lot of quality characters in this species, all thanks to the staff. I'm extremely grateful that I've had the chance to be a part of this community. I love showering my babies in attention <3 This hiatus and the species revamp has 100% made me realize all of this.

First off, VERY VERY VERY excited for the final reveal of everything!

Secondly, Akins is in need of some friends, so I'm looking for 1-2 RPs for him. (most likely one, unless there are two I just have to except.) Both genders are fine, but understand that I'm ONLY looking for friends. Romance can happen later after really they've gotten to know each other, and that Akins is attracted to them in that particular way; he doesn't have "crushes", or at least not very soon and very easily. Here's a little bit about him to get the feel of what he's like.

Akins, meaning "brave boy", was born and raised on the southern-most point of South Africa. He called home on the pebbly shores bordering the salty waters, sharing his home with the penguins that nested on the beach. He was always known to be adventurous, and as he entered his teenage years, rebellious. The day he turned eighteen, Akins left his home and constricting family for Antarctica. Now he travels back and forth from his home in the "Ice Land" to South Africa and it's surrounding lands (although he avoids his former home).
Now he's nearing nineteen years old, and is a short but muscular Makoatl now built for swimming. He may come off as blunt and very serious, however he's spent several months in solitude in the icy south, and is really just lonely and looking for companionship. Those who he's close to know him as being energetic and adventurous, always willing to explore the unknown.

Male
--Adrian suffers from narcolepsy.
Well, "suffers" wouldn't be his first choice of word. Something more subtle would be better, like... "deals with narcolepsy". If you didn't know, narcolepsy is a condition that causes someone to fall asleep randomly, at any time or place. Adrian certainly didn't ask to be narcoleptic, but he's not complaining, either.
--Nowhere to go, nothing to do.
Adrian's narcolepsy left a bigger impact than he'd like. Instead of living a free life like most other Makoatls, he's stuck back on the rocks. Swimming anywhere he can't stand is a life-threatening issue; at any moment, he could just fall asleep, sink, and drown. He can't follow any other Makoatls out into the ocean, and that makes him almost friendless. Sure, people might chat with the lonely-looking soul on the shore every so often, but that gets boring. They come and go like the tide itself, never hanging around for more than a week. Instead of sitting around over where everyone else is, Adrian has taken up exploring the nearby tide pools. All the starfish, snails, and other interesting creatures are much nicer than other Makos. For one thing, they don't scream if he falls asleep on them.

--In reality, she just kicks all of her problems aside under her rug of politeness. Get to know her, and she's pretty... average?

Felix
Male
The day Infelicitas was born was the day of a hurricane. Not just any hurricane, the kind of hurricane that brings fear to Makoatls of all sizes. His parents hadn't even had a chance to name their pup when it hit, instead being forced to flee onto land in a last second attempt to save their lives. All the nearby Makoatls survived with the occasional injury here and there, but what shocked everyone the most was that there was absolutely no chance of a hurricane that day. The sky was a bright blue, and the water was teeming with life, yet as soon as Infelicitas made his way into the world, everything took a turn for the worst. That was why his parents decided to name their pup after bad luck itself. This was meant to be a small family joke, but it didn't work out that way at all.
Later in life, Infelicitas took on the nickname "Felix" in order to fit in. None of the other pups could say his full name, and shortening it was the simplest way to confront this issue. Ever since the day of the hurricane, Felix seemed to always be surrounded by a cloud of bad luck. He was constantly breaking things by barely touching them, getting cuts and bruises of all sizes over his coat from the simplest of accidents, and mysteriously messing things up without even trying to. Over time, he grew away from other Makos, and has accepted his cloak of bad luck... literally. Makos these days generally call him the much more formal sounding Infelicitas, as he spends his days wrapped up in a long, vampire-like cloak.
In short, he considers his name to be what ruined his life. He's still incredibly unlucky, though he's learned to live with it.

Probably no one cares about this but me, but I thought I'd share ~ I've been doing some Valentine's Day stories and doodles for the past few nights, and everything has gotten a little out of hand with my babies Enero and Sai. Love is in the aaaiiirrr. They decided to be mates today <3

Just a few quick updates! Just so you are in the loop of things!
- Found an archivist who I think is real loyal to it.
- Finishing up the teen lines now.
- Almost done with the front page.

Changes/Additions:
- You will ONLY be able to gain a baby/teen makoatl via breeding. That means no teen or baby makos will be available via regular adoption.
- Breed babies will now have a chance at a EPS (Eternal Pup Syndrome). If babies will stop growing at a Teen you will know that as well (ETS).
- There will be a few more flatsales/auctions as well as free contests.
