The Star & The Sky

It was a beautiful spring day. A gentle warm breeze flowed through the air and the sky was clear except for some scattered fluffy white clouds. The sun cast its light across the field. It was lush and green, dotted with patches of flowers of all sorts. Across it were scattered a few lone oaks, their leaves giving a cool shadow for all to enjoy. Under one of those tree's were a pair of wolves, not any ordinary wolves, but the ones we all know and love. These two were Ildarth and Ciel, who were enjoying the perfect day since they were spending Valentine's Day together. The two were watching the clouds from underneath the oak's shadow. "That one looks like a bunny" said Ciel quietly to Ildarth. "That one looks a bit like you" replied Ildarth, to which Ciel protested teasingly, "No way, that one looks like you". She flicked her tail at him for emphasis, accidentally getting some paint right on his nose! "Hey!" he cried, his seemingly star bound pelt ruffling as he jumped up. Flicking paint from his tail at her in return. The purple paint landed square on her ear. The two ran out into the field, sending paint flying at each other as the lush grass tickled their paws and noses as they jumped about. Both of their hyper sides showing as the two usually calm wolves flung paint at the other like children. Soon the two collapsed in a patch of daisies, staining the delicate white petals pale yellow and purple as they laughed. After a few moments they were content with just laying there, catching their breaths as they once again observed the clear blue sky. Ildarth's star-like markings were covered and dotted with splats of pale yellow, and Ciel's seemingly already paint covered pelt was now stained with purple. "This place is so peaceful" murmured Ciel, observing the fields homely nature. In the distance you could hear the songs of birds, the whisper of the wind as it weaved between the green stalks of grass. The air had the faint aroma of the flowers. "Yes, it's so peaceful, I could forget about all my worries here." Ildarth replied after taking a moment to observe the truth of her words. The two shuffled closer closing their eyes just to absorb the warmth of the bright spring day. In a few minutes they had unintentionally fallen asleep, their minds becoming a part of the calm aura of the field. Before they fell asleep though, Ildarth murmured only three words. "I love you"
When they woke up, the world was bathed in a warm orange glow, the sun was setting, surrounded by a sea of shades ranging from pale pinks to warm oranges and reds. As the first stars began to twinkle in the dusk sky, the two sat up to gaze at them. Before they noticed, absorbed in the beautiful sunset and each others warmth, the moon had reached its peak. Its pale shape a full and ripe circle. The moon illuminated the field, casting it in a blue glow. Now the stars were in the clear sky, away from all the light of towns and cities, the stars were clear and bright. Ildarth, this being his field of knowledge, began pointing out different constellations to his less knowledgeable friend. "There's Leo, it's my favorite! And there's Sirius, the brightest star in the sky. Over there's the big dipper and there's the little one too!" he spoke enthusiastically about his favorite subject. Ciel, being the quiet and kind wolf she was, listened intently. "Hey, that one looks a bit like a heart, suiting isn't it, fo-r this day I me-an" he stuttered at the end. Under his fur he was blushing. After all, today was the 14th of February. "Hey Nebu? Can I tell you something?" Ciel asked shyly.
"Sure, what is it Ciel?" he asked curiously
"I love you too.." she murmured
"Happy Valentine's Day, Ciel"
