question of the day?

      Code: Select all
why do you love coding? if you don't, why don't you love it?

i love coding because it let's me express myself i guess. it just makes me feel awesome. idk it seems so complex when it's really not. coding is 50% of the roleplay experience.

why do you love coding? if you don't, why don't you love it?

I find it really frustrating to do, I don't understand how to do it and if i don't understand something i turn into wrathful pan and I don't have time to try and learn, let alone try and make something decent. Whilst I admire people who can/do and their posts, I also think roleplaying is about writing not the appearance. I fully understand why people want to make forms that are aesthetically pleasing, but as for roleplay posts I honestly think the content is more important and coding just detracts from that.

coding is really frustrating, and if you don't have patience it can be a pain. i used to be so incapable at coding that i would have to trade my soul to satan to do a single thing. now i'm far better than i was at it, but it still frustrates me. i guess i do like it, as it looks pretty and it makes you feel like you did something amazing when you finally see it finished. i do agree with pandle, though, with how roleplay posts with too much coding takes away from the content. i quite honestly don't know what to do with coding roleplay posts most of the time anyways. cx

why do you love coding? if you don't, why don't you love it?

i love coding because... i don't know. it's a form of art, i guess. and it's kind of magical to see it all work out on the screen. but it can be sooo annoying. i'm a bit of a perfectionist, so if something is off, or just doesn't look right, it drives me insane. so i kind of love it and hate it at the same time :3 and i agree with shay,- i think it's a part of the role playing experience. if we couldn't code, or do anything at all with our posts i'd probably enjoy role playing a lot less.

i love coding when it finally works out. i HATE all of the failures i always go through to get there though, lol.
my coding will never quite be that great mostly due to the fact i don't have the patience to
learn all of the tips and tricks, but hey. at least it's something haha. i can't stand when people decide
to judge my intelligence based on my coding. like dude, no. that's like telling someone they are
stupid because they don't speak French. sorrrrrrr-y.
:sass:

ANYWAYS. if there's anyone that'd be up for a small group roleplay with lots of drama and suspense and all,
it'd give me a chance to get back into the swing of things with roleplaying and coding and all.
pretty sure all of my 1x1 partners either think i'm dead or just gave up on me. :sigh:

      coriander - i'd be interested. c:

why do you love coding? if you don't, why don't you love it?
i'm not sure why, to be honest. it frustrates me to no end but i still attempt a decent amount of coding for every character i make and every post i post. it sort of sets my characters a part from each other. every character i create has a different coding for their form and, though i know most of the character should be built up through the roleplaying, as most roleplays i join tend to not get very far, the coding kinda completes it. idk. sounds like stupid reasoning. coding is just a fun past-time really. it's enjoyable but also so annoying.

coding gives me a headache. really, it does. i concentrate so hard on it that in the end, the only thing i accomplish is a head that hurts. i also don't have enough patience for it. you need to be patient enough to sit there and move things around and just play with it. i can't do that, no matter how much i try. plus, with my ocd nothing is ever good enough for me. my work, that is. everyone else's is just IT'S SO PRETTY. mine, i'm just like it hurts my eyes it's so bad. so yeah, that's why you never see me coding anything anymore cx

i've kind of given up on coding. i used to like it a lot, but then i got impatient, as it slowed down my writing. so now i do pretty posts and the like - but my focus is on the writing. coding is nice and all, and i love to admire everybody else's. i've just never been the most creative visually. also, i don't have the time. i do a lot of stuff and honestly i'd rather spend my time writing than playing around with fsymbols. i make "pretty" forms for group roleplays and occasionally for onexones, but i never do anything revolutionary. mostly i just reuse my old forms from when i was a lot more coding-oriented. don't get me wrong, i do appreciate coding, it's just not for me.

er, i've always loved coding once i managed to get a hang of it.
which honestly took a really really long time. ouo
once i learned a few tricks here and there, the rest came kinda easily nowadays.
i find that it's kind of like a hobby or something like that.
a way to express myself with my own aesthetic and all that mumbo-jumbo. cx

and most people say that it's all in the matter of patience,
while truthfully i never notice how much time actually passes when i'm trying to code something.
it's weird. a lot of times, forms that take me hours feel more like minutes. xD

why do you love coding? if you don't, why don't you love it?

For my posts, I do exactly two things: put in a distinctive title so my posts don't get lost in a group roleplay, and put indents on my posts so it's easier to read. That's it, and both are aimed at functionality. As for my forms, I do make them a little pretty, I guess? But most of that is, again, functionality. I like having a form where I can find the information on the character quickly. They end up more like dossiers than forms, most of the time.

The only reason that I code is so that I can write better. Keep track of things easier, read what I wrote without getting a headache, and - occasionally - I'll add something that seems to fit the character better. That's it.

I don't love coding, and I'm not sure... It's just not an art form that I understand and like to work in. I write, I doodle, I cook, and I dance. I don't code. *shrug* And that's all there is to it.
INSANELY BUSY!
I am moving! For the next month or so, I am going to be so very busy.
If I'm on here, it's because I'm unwinding with writing or pets or whatever.
Please do not add to my stress, if you can. Your support is appreciated.
