First of all, I made them and asked for them to be set as a rare/very rare. So I'd like to assume, for now, seeing as how the rarity is supposedly rare, that they'll stay that way for the 6 more days left in September.

Second of all, I see tons of people with the Sunback, but that doesn't mean the sunback is uncommon. In fact, I see tons of people with customs, but we all know how rare customs are.

Third of all, a point was made on my chat that the rarity could possibly change if people adopted a lot of the mausaic pets. For instance, if a thousand people adopted ONLY the mausaic litter, the overall rarity of the mausaic pups in comparison to the other litters would go down (marginally). However, that doesn't take into account that the PPS is the only noticeably rare pet in the group, so I would estimate that of the... 7000 pets that would have been adopted, only 500 of them would be PPS. An extra 500 PPS would, of course, decrease the rarity of the PPS.

However, it's exceedingly unlikely that several thousand people would show up, adopt only the mausaic litter, and thus decrease the rarity. If anything, they would adopt all of this month's pets, thus decreasing the rarity of all the pets.

...Besides, what people are ignoring is that even if it becomes uncommon, in 3 months it'll be rare again. XD

The rarity is estimated by the amount of pets in comparison to the amount of players and not one pet in comparison to the rest of all pets.
So, it is of course possible that it may drop in rarity by the end of month. But as it can drop it can go up again when it isn't available anymore.

When a pet is set up to be rare, doesn't necessarily mean it will be rare. It always depends how many of them were adopted.

New players sign up on CS all the time, so the amount of dogs will, generally speaking, stay the same (after the 30th), but the amount of people to divide it by will increase. So the rarity is just going to get higher as time goes by.

Don't shoot me for this, but, isn't Tess at liberty to set the rarity as she likes? Therefore, even if you wanted them to be rare/very rare she may have decided it was too much and set it at uncommon. .___. Not arguing, just a thought.

I see a few people with multiples on boards who trade for a lot of extra newborns. I don't think that counts as tons across all of the people who play and might not ever touch the boards. I had no PPS in my original litter, or in the late growers I adopted in. I acquired one though for just two other unknown growths. ^.^ Got lucky there.

People probably also leave without unloading their pets too, so the pool could conceivably go down as well. Do abandoned accounts get recycled back into the population ever via pound?
