True Friends
Fire burnt in Draco's stomach when his lips met Avery's. It ran through his veins and lit up his entire body. Every part of his way alive at her touch, begging for more of her. Her arms wrapped around his neck and his fingers got lost in the mass of her hair. He ran his tongue run over her lower lip begging for entry. Her fingers gripped his hair as she opened her mouth allowing him in. His tongue explored every inch of this new territory, trying to learn every bit of her. Finally he pulled away when the need for air made his lungs scream.
Green eyes met blue for a moment of bliss as they each gulped air into their lungs. "That was...." Avery whispered at a loss of words. Draco smiled and cupped her cheek giving her a small kiss and then pressing his forehead against hers. "Perfect." He whispered with a small smile on his face.
For hours the pair laid together in that arm chair just holding each other exchanging small kisses. Finally Avery broke away, feeling cold as soon as his arms left her. "I'm going to shower before bed. You should take one too. A cold one." And with a smirk and a small wink she turned and walked to her bedroom closing the door.
Draco blushed deep scarlet at her comment and quickly got up to take a shower before bed.
Draco stepped out of the bathroom in his boxers to see Avery face down in his bed. He gave a smirk and set the towel that he was using to dry his hair down. Her hair was dry and it cascaded down her back in a curly mess. She wore a shirt that was entirely too large for her and a pair of light blue short shorts. The only thing on her feet were bright neon socks, one orange and one green.
His arms snaked around her waist causing her to jump a little. When she saw it was him she smiled and laid her head back down on the bed. Draco was amazed at how comfortable she had gotten with him in one day, but he had a feeling it had something to do with that fact her life could easily be cut very very short. He planted a row of small kisses along her jaw and moved her hair so he could continue along her neck. He could feel her tense underneath him with every kiss. Finally his lips landed on her scar causing her to shiver. She wiggled out from under him and moved her hair back to cover the blemish.
"Why do you always cover it up?" He asked moving fully onto the bed.
"It's ugly. I hate it. It ties me to him." She said in a small voice. Draco crawled over the black silk sheets and pulled her into his arms. "Scars are sexy." He said with a smirk. Avery rolled her eyes and gave a yawn. Even with her 4 hour nap she was still tired. She looked around Draco's room for the first time really looking at it.
His four poster bed was against the far wall, and had beautiful black silk sheets and pillows. On either side of his bed he had a large window that over looked the Forbidden Forest. To the right was to door to the living room and to the left was the door to his bathroom. On the opposite wall was a very large wardrobe and mirror. It was almost the opposite of her room. Her eyes started to droop as she fought the urge to fall asleep.
Draco smiled at his small mate and pulled her into him. She easily curled into a ball and laid her head on his chest. He covered themselves with the sheets and snuggled down next to her. "I thought Draco Malfoy would wear silk pajamas to bed not Calvin Klein boxers." She said sleepily.
Draco gave a chuckle and closed his eyes feeling himself drift off. "I kept falling out of bed." He said softly and within minutes the pair were asleep.

Durring breakfast the doors to the Great Hall flew open and a tall blonde holding a snake cane walked in, head held high. Hermione looked up from her Charms book to watch the man walk up to the Head table and talk to Albus and Snape.
"I wonder what that crook is going to bail Draco out of this time." A very angry red head growled. Hermione shot him daggers.
"Ron I understand you aren't happy with Avery and Draco being mates but you are going to have to get over it. She is your family." She pleaded. Her boyfriend had a short temper and tended to say things without thinking.
"She isn't family anymore. If she is going to marry a bloody Malfoy I hope You-Know-Who gets her." He grumbled. Hermione gasped and turned to slap the boy hard across the face. Dean who was sitting across from them talking to Ginny turned and laughed.
"What the bloody hell was the for!?" Ron growled, cradling his stinging cheek.
"How dare you say that about Avery. If Harry were here he would kill you Ron. I understand you are upset but you have crossed a line Ronald. Don't even think about talking to me until you actually start using some common sense." Hermione gave a huff and gathered her books and left him sitting there a stunned look on his face.
Ron turned to see a glare from his sister. "Come on Gin! He's a bloody Malfoy!" He pleaded needing to know everyone hadn't gone mad.
"That is my best friend Ron. And I think she got lucky. Hell she could have been stuck with an ass like you." Her voice was bitter and cold. She stood and toke Dean with her leaving the boy to sit alone.
"I'm going to talk to Hermione. I'll see you in Transfiguration." Ginny said to Dean giving him a peck on the cheek. The pair parted ways and it didn't take Ginny long to find Hermione in the library. The red head sat next to the Head Girl. "I'm sorry about Ron." She said making sure to keep her voice low.
Hermione looked up at her and shook her head. "Don't be sorry. It's not your fault he just doesn't think. To think he could turn his back on Avery like that so quickly..." She pursed her lips and sighed.
Ginny shrugged. "Personally I think she got lucky. Draco is one of the hottest guys in school. Right next to Harry." A smiled spread across her face as she thought of the Boy Who Lived and the amazing summer they had together. It quickly faded when she remembered the reason their happiness had to end. For now at least.
Hermione gave a small smile. "Yea he is pretty cute. And as long as he is good to her who cares? I just wish Ron could see past his petty feud and realize that."
"I wrote Fred and George after Ron and Harry cornered them in the hall. Both of them are furious with the boys. They are just as protective over Avery as they are me. Anyways they are going to be in Hogsmade the next time we visit so they can sit down and talk to them. They'll get things straight with both of them." Hermione smiled fondly at the girl and wrapped an arm around her pulling her into a hug.
"Avery is so lucky to have a friend like you. You should go see her. I'm sure she misses you." Hermione said pulling away. Ginny sighed looking into her lap.
"I would love to but Draco can't leave her side and it's weird with him right there." Hermione thought about this problem and then her eyes lit up. She quickly started digging through her bag and then she pulled out two small worn leather bound note books. One was black and one was white. She handed both to the red head.
"Use these. What ever is written in one it appears in the other until it is read. Then in fades away. This way you two can talk in privet and no one can read the conversations." Hermione smiled brightly at solution. Ginny hugged the girl tightly and then looked at the girl.
"Wait is this the notebook I caught Ron reading in the bathro..." Her eyes went wide and Hermione blushed deeply. Quickly the red head stood trying to push those images out of her brain. "Thanks Herm." She called as she quickly left to go bleach her brain.
