I think it's kind of funny that some people are saying they dislike gory characters due to a lack of realism. Talking rainbow impossible animal hybrids with wings that couldn't let them fly and hobbies like painting despite not being anthro or having thumbs is not only common but the norm and rarely complained about. :P Honestly I don't think constantly-bleeding characters are any more of a stretch. The whole thing is suspension of disbelief - if this was meant to be a serious story someone was writing, sure. But I dare say most if not all characters aren't serious and are just for fun so I'm not sure why it's a big deal if there's not a scientifically sound explanation for them, especially when there are other blatantly inaccurate things that don't get mentioned. And I absolutely adore science, but with the whole character thing it just doesn't matter. Heck, I'm not sure I've ever seen an animal character that makes perfect sense on here.

Idk, it just kind of bugs me that so many people are like with gore but don't demand an explanation for characters with blue eyes when they don't make sense or the hundreds of other discrepancies.

^^^ this is a good point - i mean, sure, if you want to explain every aspect of your character's design, then go right ahead. If you don't want to, then you don't need to. It goes for any character really. The whole goriness aspect is no exception really. It's nice to have an explanation to it but once again, it's all up to the person.

Personally, i love having explanations to how my characters are, how they came to be, et cetera. I have no problem with unexplained injuries, or any other part of a character's design. xD i don't really mind either way - it's your character, not mine, do whatever the ell you want with it - so long as you aren't getting too sue-ish with it or anything. v u v

How much gore on a character is too much?

On someone else's character, the sky's the limit. If anything is hanging/gaping/spilled out/excessively bleeding it needs to be linked on CS, but ultimately characters are expressions of you and your likes, so if you like gorey characters more power to you C:

Myself, I don't use gore just for gore's sake on my characters, ever. I'm just too much of a wuss XD. Many of my characters have scars, missing eyes or ears, or the occasional missing limb but these always have some type of battle or story behind them.

Heterochromia is so cool! It's pretty rare in real life, though, so I use it very sparingly in my own characters. I love it, but if I made too many of my characters that way it wouldn't feel as special.

It all depends on the character. Pigeon has muti-colored eyes and I love that about him, but if I put muti-colored eyes on someone like, I don't know, Blueh, it would mess up her design in my opinion. So it really all depends on the character's personality, design and other stuff.

Hmm. Acote. She's a completely white wolf with a tear marking on her left shoulder. I don't really consider her one of my characters though. I really liked her back when I was ten, but now I just don't connect.
