It's nice to see you here.

I've read parts of your story, and I like it. I'll continue to read and maybe critique later. (;

      there's no truer statement in this entire thread.

I second that! :)

I third this. Oh, Rolly-chan and your words of wisdom~

*dies of embarrassment*

I didn't really expect any thanks, but it sure does feel great ^^
I like my fellow writers being happy writers and doing their thing, so... write and prosper improve ^^

@Captain Greenleaf
Wow, that's awesome :D (keep up the giddy feeling! Hang on to it as long as you like - I would XD)

---

By the way... Would you people like some sort of thread with writing resources? I know some websites with workshops and essays and stuff like that, and I think that might help the writers on here ^^ And everyone could contribute with sites they know, or book recommendations.

      But we'd have to make sure that all the links were appropriate to share -- as that can be hard to do when surfing through a lot of sites.

It's hard to do, but when it's sites that are really good, it's worth it. Some sites I know are probably completely fine because I know they don't have anything inappropriate on them (other than a few mild curse words that are also allowed here on CS, like damn). Some I know I can't share because they contain content not suitable for minors. I know my own resources really well, so that wouldn't be a problem.

I think adding the rule to check the sites for inappropriate content before posting them should suffice, especially because it's a CS rule not to post inappropriate content anyway. (And I was kinda planning on reviewing all the sites, so I'd check all of them in any case *cough*)

I think I'll try to give it a go soon. Well, after my exams (I knew there was something I was forgetting... xD).

so im thinking up a story along the lines of two people (or werewolves, idk >3<) named yin(girl, white hair) and yang (boy, black hair) and when they meet at a small coffe shop, yang gives her half a rock that is white with a black speck, and his is black with a white speck. same race and all yet a war takes place, and yang tries to find yin because the arphians (his side) are going to attack her country (the alopies) with a bomb, but the only way acrost is to join the war, so he travels along as fast as possible, fighting only when forced to, and killing only when times are desperate to get a love note acrost to yin, explaining his feelings. does that sound like a good write up, is it interesting, and what i should i add?

      I've been struggling with my writing for a little while now. I think it's my confidence that's getting me in big trouble again. A few years back I threw in the towel - or so I told myself. I really don't want that to happen again, but lately I've just felt so disappointed in myself.

      Any advice or suggestions to get my line of thinking on a better track?

I think that the best thing to do is just write.
It doesn't matter if it's bad, doesn't make sense, changes tense etc. Just write.
It can be any topic or whatever but you just have to write.
Writing without goals or fuss makes your writing more creative, free flowing and helps you beat writer's block.
Sometimes you have patches where your writing isn't as good as it usually is; It happens to everyone and is a normal experience that writers face.
Not really hanging around here anymore~ You can find me on deviantart though
