Only the one and only poppy flower! Not only is it beautiful, and a lovely shade of red orange, red poppies have become a symbol of remembrance of soldiers who have died during wartime, and even if they did not know them, Juliet can never ignore someone, still here or not.

She was once told by her Father; when she was quiet young and gullible, that these flowers were called Wild Painted Flowers. She thought that meant you could use them to paint, though that quickly went downhill. Her Father told her they were used by old Indian tribes to be mashed up and used for colorful reds. Of course, she ignored him on that and just believed they were good for inspiring art. For the longest time she thought painters kept them around while they painted, and was disappointed when she went to an art studio at a young age; and found none. Slowly, she learned they were just another pretty flower. However; from what she grew up learning, even if it was a lie.. she decided that because of /her/ history with the flower lies or not, she would enjoy them.

Cherokee Roses

The story is that when American soldiers were moving Indians off their land on the Trail of Tears, the Cherokee mothers were grieving and crying so much 'cause they were losing their little ones along the way from exposure and disease and starvation. A lot of them just disappeared. So the elders, they said a prayer; asked for a sign to uplift the mothers' spirits, give them strength and hope. The next day this rose started to grow where the mothers' tears fell.

She thinks they are not only gorgeous, but this story she heard made her fall in love with the simple flower. The cherokee rose may not look like a rose, but she'd cherish it more than any red rose.

Maia – In roman tradition it means ‘earth goddess of springtime’. I honestly liked the name and went to google what it meant to make it sound fancy. Her name was to be Maia all along.

Maia’s favourite flower is the Olearia phlogopappa Comber's Pink. It’s pretty much a fancy word for a dainty flower. These flowers are the same that she wears braided through her hair. The flowers are quite small and when the plant is in bloom the whole shrub can be adorned in these little flowers. Maia loves their elegant simplicity and the way that even though the flowers are little they make a statement upon the bush.
