"Good morning, Luna." Kai heard her step out of her den, he hadn't seen her yet but he always enjoyed seeing the fae's first thing in the morning, it was one of those little things in life he particularly enjoyed; the rumpled fur, tired eyes and sleepy stances, all the things a female likes to correct with grooming. He hadn't seen Luna yet so she may be looking bright eyes and glorious for all he knew "I trust you slept well?" he enjoyed initiating conversation, and he always forgave those who weren't always happy first thing in the morning. Kai was rolling around in the dry dust before he opened his eyes, stood up and shook his now cleaned coat. Luna's den was underneath where he had been lying so he headed down the tiny slope to greet her.

Luna

Luna raised her head to see another dingo, and a male. He had a hint of other dingos in his scent, so she assumed he was from the pack. Why is he talking to me? she mentally asked herself, assuming that the pack members weren't supposed to talk to the loners, And how does he know my name? she mentally continued. "Oh, um, hello" she replied nervously, although it come out sounding more like a question than a greeting.

Noting the undeniable look of utter confusion on the fae's face, he took a step back, bowed respectfully and spoke "I do apologise, I took it upon myself to learn your identification when you moved into the pack area, these wallabies know more than you'd think " he said with a giggle and a wink, Kai hoped that this would offer Luna some comfort, and not scare her away, she was undeniably beautiful and he wasn't suggesting that they run off into the sunset together, but manners don't cost a thing and in this world kindness can save a life. "My pack isn't awake yet and I would be happy to accompany a lady such as yourself in the search of breakfast, that is, if you would have me?" his tone was calm and gentle, yet reassuring and sure, he didn't want to be a threat but at the same time, if she became a threat to the pack, action would have to be taken.

Luna

The white fae tilted her head, confusion written all throughout her features. The red brute must of realised this, as he explained how he knew her name, apologising and mentioning something about the wallabies was all she got out of what he had said as she wasn't paying as much attention as she could, due to not getting enough sleep and being tired. She mentally scolded herself for not paying attention before examining him, not to make him feel uncomfortable, but to give herself another hint as to if she should trust him. Vibrant red coat, white paws, average height, nice build, chocolate eyes... Snap out of it, Luna! she mentally scolded herself again, not exactly wanting to act like she liked him, because she didn't, at least she didn't like like him. She pushed her thoughts away, realising he was still patiently waiting for her response."Wallabies, hey?" she replied playfully as he winked at her, feeling a bit suspicious of him, after all, how would the wallabies know her identification. She pushed her thoughts aside once again and returned her gaze on him once again. "Sure, I'll come with you to get some breakfast, as long as your pack won't mind if you find out" she answered, a small smirk making it's way onto her face as she imagined the alpha scolding him for taking a lone fae to get breakfast with him. "I'm Luna, as you found out, what's your name?" She asked him with a small smile.

Kai relaxed, Luna was no threat her body language made that clear, while she appeared to be thinking, or perhaps observing him closely, he tilted his head to the side, almost mirroring her puzzled look earlier in their encounter. There was a long moment of silence but it wasn't awkward, her reply was playful but cautious, he admired a lone female the bravery required to make it on your own isn't something to be ignored, any loner is very capable so to be deemed acceptable company, however short the venture may be was a compliment in Kai's book. "Oh, they'll never know, if there is one thing I can do it's mask my scent and even if they question me, I'm allowed friends aren't I?" He stepped closer to her, taking careful notice of her body language in case she became uncomfortable, he hung in the moment, savouring it, it wasn't often he met such a pleasant stranger, his fur was close to hers now, almost touching, there was a pause, he was longer than she was, his head by her shoulder. Turning his head slightly to the side he smiled back at the pretty female "I'm Mordecai" his tone had altered, subconsciously or not, he'd adopted a silkier way of speaking, taking a few more steps forward, he moved past her "Shall we go this way?" The moment was gone but the feeling remained, he felt safe with Luna, like he was in a bubble free from the restrictions of time.

Luna smiled softly as he mirrored her previous movement, but he was most likely doing it in curiosity. She shook her head, her thoughts repeating in her head, annoying her. She shook them off, pushing them aside and ignoring them, snapping out of her thoughts and returning her gaze to the red brute. "Sorry, I was just... well, thinking over things" she said due to the long silence she had left him in, telling him a small white lie that wasn't completelythe truth, as she knew it would sound strange, maybe even creepy if she told him what first come to her mind. "Yes, of course you're allowed friends, I just didn't think your pack would be too fond of you hanging out with a boring loner like myself, but I don't mind if you're alright with it" she responded, a faint smile on her face. She then turned her attention to his movement, trusting him so she let him stand beside her, ignoring their coats brushing against each other slightly in a brief second, and looking at his build, not noticing that it was clear he was taller than what she was, the most obvious reason of this to her was because he was a brute, while she was a fae. "It's nice to meet you, Mordecai. Do you mind if I call you Kai?"she asked politely. "I don't really mind which way we go, so sure" she added in agreement, almost forgetting his question all together.

(That's good to know, because I'm trying to improve my role playing skills from a few lines )

His heart fluttered a little when Luna didn't back away from him and in fact agreed to go his way, today had started out dull but this was far from what he had expected to occur when he woke up "Of course you can, I don't particularly like my full name anyway" He smiled at the thought of them exploring the bush together, he was leading her away from the pack site and away from where he usually looked for food, instead of staying within the sheltered wooded area he was hoping they could head closer to town, the food available was of a wider variety and usually easier to scavenge. Scouting the rocks for any signs of lizards or snakes on the way his paws began to feel warm on the hotter surface of the hard stone he was standing on, every so often he would look back to check Luna was still with him, her coat perfectly complimented by the darker shades of red sand and dry grass "So, if you don't mind me asking, what's your story?" he fully prepared for a polite rejection to his inquiry but he asked in the most innocent way, his only goal was to get a better understanding of his possible new friend. Looking around he realised that as the sun was rising it was creating a warm orange glow around the rock cave they were outside of, looking at the fae in this setting would be lethal but he couldn't resist, once his eyes settled on her, even when she wasn't looking he couldn't look away. It was then he felt foolish but sure at the same time, he enjoyed Luna's company and didn't want to jeopardise it, so he decided to ignore his feelings, placing all of that onto someone he just met was selfish at the best of times anyway, not to mention he actually knew very little about this canine so he sat down, looked down to avoid looking like a love struck pup and awaited her response.

Luna

Luna trailed a bit behind him as she followed his movements towards wherever they were heading. She sighed softly, enjoying Mordecai's company, but being careful not to reveal too much until she trusted him enough. She nodded as he approved of being called Kai, saying that he didn't like his full name much anyway. Luna didn't mind his full name, she liked unique names, but she mentally shrugged it off anyway. She watched the ground briefly as they stepped on the hard rocks, making sure she wouldn't fall. She carefully stepped off, the hot surface boiling on her paw pads, before returning her gaze back to Kai. "My history isn't anything special. I was born and raised in a pack, a third of the 'princesses' as my parents were Alpha and Alphess. My older siblings bullied me harshly, knocking me unconscious once, and almost killing me another time from trying to drown me. When I was old enough, I decided to leave because I had had enough, so I've managed to escape from harsh, cruel Alphas and now I'm back as a loner once more" she replied, noticing that he had been gazing at her her. She let it go, only catching a glimpse anyway before digging at the cave ground, dust flying behind her as she finished, laying down, a golden tinge going into her coat as a bit of gravel stained it, but she knew she could easily get it out in a water source later. "What's your past been like? she asked, hoping she hadn't asked too early and he didn't trust her, but she knew she would also be disappointed in both him and herself if he didn't answer, as she told him, so in her personal opinion, it was his turn to share now.

She then sighed, wondering if he would tell her or not. She let the slight breeze blow through her coat before resting her head neatly, her tail curled up and finishing beside her hind leg. She quickly shook her coat, sand, dust and even a bit of gravel coming out, but the stain still on her coat and visible. She sighed once again before letting her deep chocolate coloured eyes scan their surroundings for a while before resting them back on Mordecai, patiently awaiting for his response. She was ready to get up and run if the red brute become aggressive at her for asking a sensitive question, but she knew it would pretty much be helpless as he would end up finding her, whether it be alone or with the help of his pack. She let her thoughts fade away, knowing he probably wouldn't turn against her like that, but she also knew you could never be too careful. "I understand if you don't want to share that information with me, though"she briefly added, reassuring him he wasn't under any pressure for an answer, although she would like to know as curiosity was bubbling up inside of her, wanting to know more about Kai, realising she might be able to consider him as a friend in the future.
