Littlepaw bristled and whipped her head around to look at the tom. She gasped.

Smoothpaw just gave her a questioning look and thought Is this apprentece deaf? But she still looked up at him with shocked eyes. "No need to be scared of me" "I don't want to hurt you, just talk, my name's Smoothpaw. What's yours?

Whisperpaw stayed where she was, unsure where to go. Shuffling her paws she looked around wondering where the other apprentices were. The pretty she-cat urged herself to stand and have her paws move but she couldn't do it, she just sat there looking around.

She pricked her ears, "Well...I'm not very interesting. I had a sister..but she.." She blinkeda away tears, "Got stolen by a hawk..she looked like me, we were twins, and a fox got into the nursery and took her away...My mother was killed by a badger when I was 3 moons old and now all i have is my father." She looked down at the ground.
