Mintpaw looked in the direction of the smell and followed it then she crouched and kept her tail and belly low. She struck forward but the vole wriggled from her grasp and she frowned. "Oh well, I can try next time"

"That was close, nice try!" Dawnlight smiled encouragingly at Mintpaw.

"Would you like to see me catch something as an example?" Dawnlight asked her apprentice, flicking her ears.

"Ok," she looked at her mentor "I could use an example"

Dawnlight sniffed the air before whispering to Mintpaw, "Follow me." The she-cat got into a warrior's crouch and quickly stepped over branches and leaves. She slinked close to the ground until she got to a tree. Dawnlight, as quicks as a heartbeat, climbed up the tree and was returning down with a squirrel in her jaws. "I'll teach you about climbing later in your training." Dawnlight told Mintpaw, her voice muffled from the squirrel.

"Wow" Mintpaw looked at Dawnlight with respect and gazed at the squirrel, "How did you do that so fast?!"
