Just a few minutes ago, I tried to adopt a pet from my site, and it said that it couldn't connect to the database. The pet images aren't working either...

It seems to be working now. Probably your webhost's database server went down for a while and they've fixed it now.

um, it appears the "basic html adoptables tutorial" link isn't working and if it's still around i'm awful curious about what was on that too ^^;

Yep, that one is gone now, sorry... , we don't have it on here any more. It was the idea of just linking people to a pet image which you manually replace with a new one when your pet grows up.
