@Joe Kerr: I would guess APBT mix but I'm not great with the bully breeds closest to APBTs.
@Lupen: I never realized Koda's head was so... interesting xD

Thank you, and yeah he is an interesting mutt xD But I put up a better photo for his head profile.
I don't really see Anatolian; I'd think his makeup would be more common anyways. His tail really is odd though. Husky is a possibility we've thought about before; he sure makes enough husky-esque noises, like howling or "talking". Not to mention, he sure is stubborn >< Border collie could be a possibility too, maybe instead of Aussie as I had previously thought.
So far the most common breeds guessed have been:
Golden, Lab, Husky, Aussie and Border collie.
I don't really know enough about coat color genetics to make any better guesses based off of that, but he seems to be a Sable merle of some type? I think you mentioned it before on his journal, Sara. Because between his heterochromia, nose, pawpads, random black spots and the silver/black tipping he has on the fur of his back (which is hard to see in photos), I'd say It all points to it.

✨ Everything I have on CS is for sale for Flightrising! Desperately looking for the familiars above. ✨
Pet trades accepted as well.

I vote golden and aussie, with various other hints at some other breeds. Shelter pulls and dogs from unknown backgrounds are rarely just one or two breeds, even if that's what shows the most. To me he looks very golden in the body and coat, if he grows into a nice long coat I would say almost guaranteed to be golden as a large part of him showing through

I would post Rylee as well but I think I've already come as close as I can to her breed(s).
Dog's Name: Koda
Weight: About 35 pounds
Height: 20 inches at 10 months

Sorry they aren't the best, but I just quickly snapped the first three with my phone for this. I know he looks very bored in the second xD and excuse the mess in the background; having a garage sale soon.
My best guess would be a Husky/Golden Retriever mix with some smaller breed. The face looks like a Husky to me.

Love the idea of this thread!
I definitely see some bully breed influence in Penny Jane, Amstaff is more likely than APBT due to the availability/commonness. She doesn't quite have the wirey look you tend to see in APBT either.
For Koda, he's very interesting. I can tell you that one parent had to be sable, and one had to be merle. (Both could've been carried by one dog)
The merle does help widdle the list down a bit. More common merle carrying breeds = Australian Shepherd, Border Collies, Dachshunds, Catahoula, Corgi
(granted this varies by area)
Less common: Beauceron, Koolie, Smooth Collie, Shetlands Sheepdog, Pyrenean Shepherd Dog
Those aren't the only breeds, but those are ones that come to mind.
I could see something like English Shepherd/Border Collie/Husky of sorts.

:O I have a fun guess for Koda that just came to mind. I'm pretty sure Novia Scotia Duck Tolling retrievers (which are smaller) are sable, their liver gene is just expressed, changing the black and making them appear different. But breed one to a dog that isn't a liver carrier and you'd get a sable dog with black pigment.
That could explain the size and more herdy-type look.
Okay! I'll add my boy if you don't mind. He is a known mix so I'm curious to hear what guesses he gets.

I definitely see GSD him. Maybe GSD/husky/dobe?
