As soon as she was up, August flicked his ears forward and started walking again. After they were a good distance from the snarling, snapping canine, August looked back to see the owner of the dog unraveling the leash from the pole and scolding it. He smirked slightly, then turned his focus back to the path ahead of them.

He couldn't think of anything to say for a good, long moment. He finally spoke up, but wasn't sure if he had chosen the right thing to say.

"D'you have place to stay, or have you just been wanderin' 'round?" He just hoped that it wasn't a sore subject for her, like it probably would be for him to talk about.
