Is it special/rare to own a dragon with the only color combo existing on the site?

In a site where breeding dragons is an infinite thing, and the dragon market is overflowing with there being more dragons than lairspace available, if we include exalted dragons of course, yes, it is a wonder to own the only dragon with its particular color combo on site. There are enough dragons for every color combination imaginable to exist a few times, but because triples take so much of this population due to their popularity, finding a one of a kind x/y/z, and one that looks gorgeous, is quite a feat, almost more of a feat than finding a triple of any one color, at least of those that have been overbred, such as Ice, White, and Obsidian, which take up the biggest toll in how many dragons of that color combination there are on site. =] There are a few that come close, but those three are definitely the top dogs.

This is all subjective of course, as most things on FR. Owning a dragon that is unique in coloration might mean the world to some, and be meaningless to others~

I think it just feels nice, or at least to me
Because there are so many triple ice or double obs dragons or just those color combos that everyone loves and has that mine don't feel special to me like having a dragon that's odd colored and one of a kind

And that's actually awesome, because among the tri Ice dragons, he is unique. But when it comes to colors I think it's a bit more unique. I can slap some genes on a dragon of any color. For example, until recently, there was only one triple Maize dragon in the entire site with these genes:



However, I had obtained a Maize Clown/Maize Eye Spots Tundra, and I decided to slap Crackle on him. A third person evidently thought of doing the same thing, as there is yet another like them now, and after a look at her parents, there is no doubt the person purposefully gened her up. Genes are replaceable, and if you regret it, you can always, with one hundred percent certainty, remove that gene and slap on the one you prefer. With colors it is more complex. You can only scaterscroll them. And with how random those are, they are definitely not to be counted on for unique and gorgeous color combos. Can they create them? Yes, some of my favorite dragons on site are scattered. But can you purposefully plan for it? No. You can choose to keep scatterscrolling until you get a particular coloration, but in the end, it is random whether you get it or not.

Pointing out, this is not a rant or an attack on genes making a dragon more unique. This is precisely why I love genes. They add variety to any dragon, no matter the color. I am just adding in to my views on gene uniqueness vs color uniqueness. c=

Yeah there are so many triples compared to single color combos.
I have several dragons that are 1 of only 3 of dragons with the same combo existing on the site,
so that is why I was wondering if it's rare to have, or it is was common to have a unique one^^

The other two were exalted. I bred this one myself, I like breeding random dragons with wide ranges just to see what I get xD

there are also only two other dragons with his colors.. both exalted
