One of the doctors placed a hand on his shoulder. "Your Majesty, she cannot hear you. She's in a coma-like state that we have no explanation for. It seems as though something was in the wound on her shoulder, but we cannot place what the substance is. She has to be kept peaceful or she could get worse."

Cam looked up at the doctor, and sighed. "Thanks." He stood and walked back to the king. "I'll kill you!" he growled.

The king looked up and chuckled. "So you saw her, did you?" He smirked. "Have the intense fevers and convulsing set in yet? An awful sight, truly. Death will be imminent." When he was threatened, he raised an eyebrow. "Oh, I really wouldn't do that."

"Why the h*ll not?!" he demanded.

The king chuckled. "Because I'm the only one that can save her." He pulled a small vile from his pocket and waved it in Cam's face before slipping it back to its place. "This is the only vile of the substance that will be able to keep your wife alive. If you kill me, you will never get it and your wife will die."

Cam sighed. "I can kill you and take it from your pocket," he said.

"If you make a move towards me, I'll break the vile and you will never be able to recover it," the king threatened.

Cam sighed, clenching his fists. "What do you want from me?" he asked lowly. He couldn't help but think back to his wife. This is why he always refused to let her travel with him. He always knew something would happen to her. What was happening now? The symptoms he was informed about?

"I want your land, as stated earlier," the king said casually. "Some land for your wife. A fair trade, yes? Of course, if you refuse..." He chuckled. "You won't see your wife again."
