Cam rolled his eyes. "We'll se about that."

The king chuckled softly and watched him. "Yes, we will. Oh, and you might want to check on your wife. Alli, isn't it? Yes, it won't be long now." He cast a glance towards the clock.

Cam frowned. "Okay?" he said and walked back to Alli.

Back in the infirmary, Alli's skin had become a sickly pale. As she'd slept, she'd slipped into a state of unconsciousness that none of the doctors had answers for. She wasn't dead or in a coma, but she wasn't responsive.

Cam frowned. "Alli?" he asked, and sat by her. "Alli, wake up," he said. He shook her gently. "Alli babe you gotta wake up."

Alli was unresponsive.

The doctors approached him. "Please, Your Majesty, she can't hear you."

Cam sighed, ignoring the doctors. "Please, Christina Allison, please," he begged.
