So I sent this as a suggestion, asking this person to edit.
They resend as this, with the message:

Pick from 1 of mine for 1 of yours.. I will also accept C$!

I politely explain that I am not looking for either of those pets, and edit back to this.
They then edit to this, asking

How about this? What would you give me for this? (I'll take C$ for it too)

I was getting annoyed by that point. I edited to this with the message

Sorry, but I'm not really very interested in that pet. How's this look?

They cancel with

Sorry, but my pet has super high demand.

I decide to resend one more time, thinking that maybe this would be enough overpay. They cancel with the message

It's official. I will never trade away this toxic fairly. The trades I send for it either auto-cancel without acknowledgement, or they're left to rot. The suggestions I work out for it auto-cancel before my trade partner replies to them, even after editing back and forth for days. The only fair offer I've had that hasn't auto-cancelled was a tier swap for the UR rat, which I turned down because I was afraid it'd be even harder to trade fairly than the toxic. Sometimes I hate trading, and I've started to hate this toxic a little bit too.
