Murkypaw's ears twitched as a faint rustling noise came from directly in front of her. She slunk silently across the forest floor, then pounced, landing on the bird just as it was about to take flight. She bit into its neck and nodded in satisfaction as the creature went limp.

"Good job," Cometfern praised, a smile passing in her gaze. "You've got great potential," She added, brushing Murkypaw's cheek with her tail.

Dovepaw looked up once again, angry. Her gaze softened when she saw it was Vinepaw.
"Yes?"
she murmured, taking another bite of the mouse.

Snakefang stood up, embarrased. Then looked at her with a slight frown.
"I think you're forgetting that Dovepaw is my daughter,"
he growled, shaking his head and parting his jaws slightly.

Vinepaw slipped into then den and pressed his cheek against hers. "Don't stress yourself to much, okay." He mewed softly, and gazed into her eyes. "I know everything seems to be unraveling, but think of the kits. They'll be beautiful and healthy, and if you keep lashing out they might get hurt." He said, and purred slightly. He was glad to be talking to her again.

[Seasonal]

"Oh. Right," Shadowheart murmured, looking down at her paws.

[Toadalicious]

Murkypaw dipped her head in acknowledgement to Cometfern's praise, then darted off into the forest once more, tracing the faint scent trail of a young mouse.

Snakefang flicked his tail for Shadowheart to be quiet. His ears were pricked and he crouched down to the ground, twitching his ears towards a small mouse, already suffering from leaf-fall. It was small, but it would have to do. Snakefang pulled himself silently along the ground, and just when he was about a fox-length away from it, he pushed off with his hind legs and landed with his front paws on it's tail. It shrieked in terror, but it was to late, Snakefang was already reaching to nip it's neck. He did so, and it fell limp under his paws.

Snakefang picked it up gently by it's body, careful not to pierce the skin, and trotted back to Shadowheart. He buried a small hole in the roots of a tree, placed the mouse in, then kicked the dirt back over it.
"I guess leaf-fall is kicking in already,"
he meowed.

"Yeah," Shadowheart muttered softly, narrowing her eyes and flicking her tailtip. She made sure that her senses were alert and tasted the air. She padded off quietly in the direction of a shrew's scent.

EDIT - nope it's bakugon... }

Dovepaw sighed heavily and looked away.
"But why does Icestar hate me all of a sudden?"
she murmured, pushing the half-eaten mouse towards Vinepaw.
