Cam sighed, shaking his head. All the land they had free was set aside for schools and another hospital. "I can't give you that."

Alli tried to back her head away from the blade at her throat, but it was difficult what with how the king was holding her.

Cam sighed, looking at Alli. The king pressed the knife t Alli's collar bone.

Alli yelped and squirmed as the king pressed the knife to her collarbone. It was starting to hurt, and her collarbone was awful close to heart.

Cam gasped and walked up to them. "Stop!" he said, pulling Alli to him carefully.

The king slipped, the knife going into Alli's shoulder.

Alli cried out as the knife sank into her shoulder. She collapsed into Cam's arms, white hot pain sweeping over her.

Cam held her. "Shh, come on. Look at me," he said.

Alli whimpered and managed to look up at him, but her vision was blurred with tears. "Cam," she whispered, "it hurts so much." She had a high tolerance for pain, but this...this was too much.

Cam nodded. "I know baby but it's just your shoulder. It's gonna be okay," he said. He looked around and someone was already rushing over to help them.
