SCOUT
female :: koolie :: traitorShe admitted, grudgingly, that splitting the cooling carcass was the best idea, although she was not grateful for their supposed "help". She could have caught that deer on her own, without their cumbersome bodies getting in the way, and then she would have been able to have the whole thing for herself. Why they still denied that she was there first, that the corpse of the white tailed deer was not her own and that it owned to them was beyond the young koolie. Did she have to spell it out for them? Were they so thickly skulled that they couldn't see past their own noses and stare at the truth?
Yet it was not worth, in her eyes, to even share. She'd killed the thing, hadn't she? Just because they were bigger and fatter didn't mean that they had more right to a meal that one of them hadn't even done anything to get! Scout crouched low as the female of the pair prepared to leap at her and remained in that position as the fae's brother stopped her from doing anything. Stepping back, the koolie let Arrow pick up the dead ungulate by the throat and watched with narrowed eyes and a wrinkled muzzle as he dragged it away. "You know what, fatty? Keep it and improve that insulation you have under your skin!" There was no point in even trying to share the carcass: by the time the two herding dogs were done with it, there would likely be nothing left. And if there were, it would just be scraps, nothing of value. She wouldn't even waste her time with them.
Turning away, Scout pricked her ears and focused her head towards the snow, listening intently. There had to be a vole or two somewhere nearby for her to catch. Only a mouthful, but it would still keep her going. "Ari, do you fancy a tasty vole for breakfast?" She questioned, not moving her skull the slightest inch. The herd of deer would be long gone and Scout really didn't feel like getting below all the wool of a sheep just to feed.
