((We are back in business! And for those of you who don't know, Kitteh! will be replacing cookiethekitty. Also, I did have a time skip to the next morning, just so that things are a bit easier...))
Soul padded out of his den and jumped up on top of it, finding comfort in the smooth, worn wood of the tree stump. Yesterday had been a nightmare, and explaining to the leash the deaths of Kikiara and Sasha was heartbreaking for everyone. However, the leader did take comfort in knowing that their dreams weren't haunted by demons anymore, and that the Ruby Key in the Ancient Rock kept glowing a strong, unwavering red. It was a sign of hope.
Soul sighed, and looked up at the disappearing stars. The sun would soon rise, and with it, the foxes, but life would go on today as it always had, and Soul knew that he had to remain strong and optimistic for the leash. He closed his eyes as a warm breeze and sweet scent surrounded him. Oh Kinari... he thought, Help me... Slowly opening his green eyes once again. The food pile was filled with prey and various nuts and fruits. Nobody had had much of an appetite to eat last night, but the leader would make sure that everyone ate decently before going off on the assignments he had in mind for today.
Copper kicked and fought in his sleep, practicing the moves that he had learned from Ryuu. He knew that he would be the best warrior in the leash, and he would prove himself over again and again if he needed to. A sharp yelp awoke him, and Copper knew that he had awoken one of the other apprentices. Guiltily, he padded over to the far end of the fallen tree and curled up with his three tails over his nose, hoping that no one would suspect a thing.
Raven slept soundly and happily, feeling loved and warm among the other hunters and warriors. The deaths of Kikiara and Sasha had greatly spooked and saddened her, but a few warm words from Flare, her love, was all it took for Raven to be optimistic once again. The leash would go on, the least would survive.
