Brokenheart followed after Silhouettepaw. Her tail was dragging against the delicate fall leaves on the ground. Realizing this, she held it up higher and padded quietly through the camps as if nothing had ever happened. She shouldered her way into the medicine cat's den inside and saw Swiftheart there. He was.... crying? She crouched down beside him, inspecting his wounds. She wasn't about to get involved in another cat's business. "How did the battle with the Fox go? It's dead, right?" She couldn't help but have a spark of a grudge. The Fox had injured Silhouettepaw, and now Swiftheart. It better be dead. "Silhouettepaw, lay down NOW." She ordered. She wasn't about to let his injuries get any worse.

"Remember, you can't save everyone if you don't save yourself."
"Why Starclan... Why...?"
"She's gone. Get over it."
"I can't resume my duties. I will become a medicine cat."

The memories ran through her head again. She shook her head, as if shaking off water.
My broken heart will never heal. The pain it caused is just too real.

Swiftheart looked, as if waking from a daze. "Hmm? Oh, the fox. Yes, I killed it, but it got Heatherkit first."

Brokenheart blinked. She felt as though her heart was struck by lightning. She didn't show it though. "I-" She was forcing out the words. "I'm sorry" Heatherkit was her clanmate. She looked down before standing up to get herbs. She sorted out the right ones and made yet another poultice. "Here" She applied it to the wound. "Rest"

Swiftheart shook his head. "I can't. Beachpelt wanted me to wake her, and soon I'll need to organize dawn patrol and a hunting patrol." Being deputy was going to be a tough job.
