To be fair, when Tolkien was finished writing The Hobbit, he saw it as too childish and went back to re-write it. He only got to chapter two though, as his publisher said it was "not the hobbit." So, in some ways, Peter Jackson is making it more mature of a story, which Tolkien did want.
I actually didn't know that! Well, there's the Tolkien fact of the day for you! XD
You learn something every day! haha xD

I've never heard that before either, and I've seen/read a couple of biographies of Tolkien! Where did you find that out?

Because they will have made them all so disappointing.
On brightside I grew up with the lord of the rings movies so Yay for having childhood with lord of the rings O.o
That there, my friend, is where you are wrong. They can dig plenty into The Lost Tales, The Silmarillion, The Adventures of Tom Bombadil, or The Children of Hurin. There are also some more that I cannot recall off the top of my head; but they could theoretically adapt any of those into movies. However, I don't ever expect they will.

They aren't as well known (well, The Silmarillion is a possible exception) so I also don't imagine they will bother to make movie adaptions of any of them, sadly. *Sighs* I do suppose we'll just have to deal with re-watching the movies forever D:

That and the fact that warner brothers only bought the rights to the hobbit and the trilogy because those two where the ones that would make them money hence as to why the lord of the rings online is limited in what it can and cannot use meaning that anything from the other published works of tolkien can't be used in the game unless mentioned in appendices or the trilogy. They make alot of money off the lord of the rings as whole including merchandise video games and the popular lord of the rings online which relies on microtransactions because it's free to play. they only bought the rights that would make them the most money.
