Because what isn't more romantic about being stranded on a beautiful island?
I dunno, maybe visiting the island on a 6 month cruse around the world or something. I mean if you think about it, once everyone is assembled by blowing the conch shell, two people will rise as leaders and one will go psycho with blood lust because they can't kill a hog while the other more sensible one just wants to be rescued but everyone gets bored of him and doesn't trust him because supposedly there's a monster on the island and he doesn't believe in it. Blah blah blah someone gets killed by a giant rock and another one has visions and then has a seizure and dies and the psycho leader and his gang go up against the sensible leader with the while island on fire and just as they're about to kill him their rescuers appear and are terribly ashamed of them. Wait a second, has this happened before...?
