heeey there guys
when you develop slice of life human plots, what do you base them? random fancies, songs, events? I almost always have to base a one x one idea off a song if its simply a slice of life thing, since I feel if there's no background to these things, they just... flop?

also what do you do when you can't find one x one partners?
lower expectations? come up with new plots? just wait?
I've been looking for some new one x ones/partners for some time and can't seem to find many... maybe one in the past month or so?

i tend to base human plots on real events that either happen to myself or the people around me (or people i watch haha) now and then i'll find a song with good descriptive lyrics etc, that'll make some sort of scene in my head. it's kinda complicated, but i go through those types of things like movies. (this isn't making sense) and then i'll get inspired and i'll want to write it all out and then transition it into a rp, but it usually dies :/

so i haven't been all that active lately, but i was hoping to jump back in (that being said, i am looking for a one x one with someone who's willing to post 2-3 paragraphs per post!). feeling lonely and a little awkward, too, so i'll just answer ailurophile's question...

i think first person is cool because you can go into more depth that way. it allows you to show everything from their point of view, but it also has the disadvantage of not being able to talk about things the character does not know. and everything in first person is biased. i find this fun because you can do all sorts of things when you're looking through the character's lens and not your own. i don't really use first person, but i try to incorporate my character's judgment and thoughts in my third person writing.

hard for me since i type in second person so much that I switch between the two and then I have to go throughout this long process of checking and... it's nice though c:

but no really, role playing is like writing a collaborative story where everyone's characters come into play and you can take the plot anywhere... AKA REAL LIFE.
