I got mine off of google images and there are tons of them there so I don't think you'll get in trouble

That won't change anything that much though, but getting it off Deviantart (if allowed/got permission) and any other sites are allowed. I've tried getting pictures off of google images once though, and I've gotten in trouble. Google forbids to use the images on this site.

If it is from deviant art it can not be used at all. They are pictures that someone else took time to make, if its a normal nintendo picture its fine though so try to stick with like bulbapedia or something that uses the ones from the games

Well maybe we don't even need to use an exact reference.
I mean,the drawing shouldn't come out exactly like it anyways, it would be the artist own redrawn creation of the picture right?
Like different pose and stuff....just the same Pokemon.
At least that's what I would do.
