@Arcaii

I appreciate your opinion!

The reason behind his name
is that hawk. One of my native
Hawks. We actually have a Cooper's Hawk
nest near our house. The coloring reminded
me of a darker brown Tabby cat <3

As for the geographical issue with the Hawks,
I am considering changing Hawktalon's clan
to one of my own personal clans, simply
because his name does not fit with the
area in which Erin Hunter's clans reside.

Though, if Hawks are not native in England,
why is Brambleclaw's half-brother 'Hawkfrost'
in the books?

Moving him wouldn't be too bad of an idea. You're more familiar with your area, and there's no reason Clans can't happen there.

As for Hawkfrost, there is a large difference between what is canon and what is traditional. This requires a little explaining, sorry:

Basically, back in the day, Erin Hunter wrote 6 books: the first arc in the series. These had more rules to the naming system and are considered the least "tainted". When the second and third arcs were written, Hunter began using fan names, which is fine, except that some of them didn't make any sense. Well, a lot of them didn't make any sense. Not only that, but the location seemed to change from England to North America-ish (there are no mountain lions, wolves or bears in England).

Other fans were quite annoyed about that, and over time a system emerged known as "traditionalism". Traditionalism takes from the first arc, books 1-6, and creates a naming system based on that. The prefix describes a cat's appearance with a plant or animal name, since that's what they are given at birth, and the suffix describes a skill, personality, or appearance. That's the system I stick strongly to, and that's how I judge cats!

I hope that cleared it up a little.

I wonder why Erin Hunter chose
to drift from the traditional names?

As much as I love the creative, more
outlandish names, the original ones
are what got me interested in the books
in the first place.

I do think I prefer 'Talon' over 'Claw' or 'Fang'
simply because when I hear 'Hawk' I
immediately think 'Talons' {or feathers haha}

As for Clan names, do you have any suggestions?
I'm thinking of making my own clans, but having
three clans, rather than four. Their territories
creating a natural triangle.

If truth be told, I don't think Erin Hunter is a very good writer. She tends to create plot holes, destroy characterization, and add unnecessary drama, and it got worse as the books went on. She never really created traditionalism, it's a fan system that's become very popular.

You're totally allowed to do that. I'm just giving my opinions when I review. You're also welcome to create your own naming system and use it specifically for those Clans.

If you want to create a few Clans, my suggestion is for you to figure out what exactly separates the territories from each other. What makes them different - does one have a lot of creek-beds? Does another have a much larger amount of trees than the others? Maybe the third is much closer to a Twoleg establishment. I would decide on the territories, then name the Clan after that. (For example, a rocky, hillish territory with a Clan called RubbleClan, or a marshy territory having MarshClan.)

I do very much appreciate your opinion, though.
There aren't many people who are willing
to give constructive criticism.

The books did get extremely strange.
The battles with Starclan and the Dark Forest
bothered me, and I stopped reading and decided
to just enjoy the original books.

That is a very good place to start.
Would it be alright with you if we
carried this conversation to PM's
as to not clog your topic?

Youre welcome, and I'm more than happy to continue helping you over PM! That's just fine to me.

I do know that she's four people, yes, and I don't think highly of those four people. And don't worry! You're allowed to love them, and I'm allowed to dislike them. Magic of opinion, ladies and gentlemen.

Image/Description: Long haired gray tabby with brown eyes
Name: Cinderfall
Gender: She-cat
Clan: riverclan
Rank: Warrior cat
Personality/Skills: All in all, Cinderfall is kind and quick to act, but get her angry and you will be in the Medicine cats den for longer than anyone would like. She hates having to repeat hers
Important Notes: Cinderfall will often help the Medicine cat with helping cats even though she hates that herb smell.

Bored?

Look through my Completed Lion Collection!
A large amount of them are dressed up, and the group includes lion-themed pets that don't use the lion's lineart.

Here we go - back to reviewing!

Name Rating: 8/10
Name Type: Canonical/Traditional
Name Reasoning: Cinder- fits her just right. There's not much to say on it.
But -fall? I'll have to stop you there.
See, -fall doesn't really describe her too much. Does it mean she falls a lot? That's not very nice to name her for. If I were you, I'd name her for those snappy manners of hers, or her quickness to act.
Alternative Name: Cinderheart/Cinderstorm. -heart is for a cat who will do whatever it takes to make things right and fair, and -storm describes a fierce personality.

Character Rating: 8/10
Character Reasoning: I think the best thing to do to bump up the rating would be to hammer down her traits a little. I would blend the kindness and ferocity into a strong-willed cat who will do what's right and doesn't care what others think. She seems like someone who would be very concerned with the current news, and will voice what she thinks (even if nobody asked her). A dedicated, hard-working cat would also fit in with that. If she's willing to help around the med. cat, disregarding the stink of herbs, that's some dedication to helping her Clanmates out.
