Beverly nodded again, smiling. "Yes, It'd be interesting to explore this place for ourselves." She replied. She liked this girl, she was very outgoing and curious. "What's your dog's name?" Beverly asked, wondering. She had never had a dog; her parents didn't like pets, they thought they were too dirty and messy. When she did have a pet, her father beat it and she had no choice but to bring it to the Humane Society. Poor thing.

"Oh, this furry beast?" Britain giggled and scratched Perries ears. "This is Perrie, she's a Great Pyrenees, and a great friend" she told her. "Let's go look around" she smiled, "we can talk about how and why the heck we are here."

Beverly reached down to pet Perrie, and she returned her favour with a gentle lick. She smiled. Beverly listened to Britain's comment, and laughed. "Ya, I think that would be fun." She answered with a smile. Beverly tied Criminal and Ariel to a nearby fence post, and joined Britain again. "So," She said as she walked. "How did you end up here?" She asked, understanding if she might not want to talk about it.

"I ran away" Britain told her as they walked. "My stepmom literally beat me" she stopped, "I still have bruises" she pointed to the ones on her legs that were very visible. "My dad didn't even know she was beating me, he didn't have a clue when she broke one of my ribs either and I was too afraid to tell" Britain watched as Perrie ran around ahead of them, chasing bugs. "I ran away after she threatened to take Perrie away. That week she got me even worse and would say some of the awfullest things. It would make a sailor blush at some of the things she would call me." Britain said with a tone of disgust. "I hate that woman and I hope she gets hit by a bus or Something horrible" she told Beverly hoping she would understand. "What happened to you?" She asked softly.

Beverly nodded as she listened. "I'm sorry, you didn't deserve to go through that." She siad once Britain had finished. "Well, much like you, my father used to beat me. He was an alcoholic, and my mother never did anything to stop him. She was always yelling at someone, mostly me. My father came home one night, drunk as always, and beat my mother dead." She paused a moment before continuing. "Then he turned on me, and beat me until I was unconscious. I woke up in the hospital. After my father thought he killed me, he turned himself in." She said, rubbing her wrists out of anxiety. "I've never talked to him since then. I'm actually quite scared of him, now." She said, looking at the ground. "Sorry for the sob story, I know it's not that interesting to hear a person melt out their past."

"You don't deserve it either" Britain gave her a smile, "And it's actually very interesting when someone can relate to you so closely" she told her. Out of nowhere Britain hugged Beverly, a comforting hug, the kind that helped you to believe its all ok. She pulled out of it, "Sorry, you just looked like you needed one" she said quietly, with a small smile

"Hey, I'm here now, and I wish you'd been here a year ago too" she smiled. "Let's find a place to stay tonight, I've seen several abandoned cabins" Britain told her, looking up at the setting sun. "Let's get your horses though, I don't think they'd appreciate being left alone any longer" she giggled and whistled for Perrie to follow them.
