❝ Brooke nodded quietly and admired the place he had made. It actually looked quite cozy. I crawled inside and sat in the corner of the tent/shack. Then my eyes darted over to a DVD player. I tilted my head. "How does the DVD work without any wires or internet?" I asked curiously. I took out my phone and held it up, checking if there was any kind of internet but there wasn't. I looked back down at the DVD player again.

❝ Skylar lay in her bed lazily, cuddling into Star and Molly who were on either side of me. "We got a big day ahead of us." I said to both of them and looked over at the clock which was on my bedside table. It read 9:25. Still some time to sleep in. I thought to myself and flopped my head down on my pillow. Then Star climbed up onto my chest and gave me a big slobbery kiss. "Eww.. Star." I moaned and wiped the saliva off with the palm of my hand. I reached under my pillow and took out my phone. I checked it for any texts or missed calls.

Brock looked at the dvd player and shrugged.
"Battery," he replied, looking around at the walls. One of the walls had a poster of him on it with an electric guitar.

❝ Brooke's eyes followed his and they stopped at poster with what looked like him playing an electric guitar. "Is that you?" I asked curiously and crawled my way over to the poster. "Were you a singer? Or were you in a band?" I added cheerfully. He looked as if he was enjoying himself in the poster, something Brooke hadn't done in years. I looked at the writing on the poster, my eyes scrunched up as, well... I couldn't read.

I said to both of them and looked over at the clock which was on my bedside table. It read 9:25. Still some time to sleep in. I thought to myself and flopped my head down on my pillow. Then Star climbed up onto my chest and gave me a big slobbery kiss. "Eww.. Star." I moaned and wiped the saliva off with the palm of my hand. I reached under my pillow and took out my phone. I checked it for any texts or missed calls.

Brock nodded slightly and obliviously cracked his knuckles."Err.. yeah.. I was the lead singer in a band.." he said quietly, looking at the poster. It was at least 2 years old and the color was alnost worn off completely. "My uh.. guitar is over there." he added, pointing to a black electric guitar that was sticking out of a pillow.

❝ Brooke quit trying to read the writing and looked over at the guitar. It was scratched in some places and looked pretty old. I wondered if Brock could still play it. "Are you able to play?" I asked her softly. "For me?" I asked, doing my best impression of puppy eyes. I sat down and looked at Brock, then back at the guitar. "Please?" I said, hoping he would play at least a tune for me.

Brock sighed but smiled slightly, "Fine.. I'll do a song.." he mumbled, pulling the guitar out. He grunted before he started to play. He started a tune before singing the lyrics to the song.

❝ Brooke was surprised when he started to sing. He was actually pretty good. I smiled brightly as he started to play and sat happily. I didn't really know what to do other than smile and nod.

Brock finished the song and sat staring down at his guitar, smiling slightly. He lightly strummed its strings, remembering when he would play it all the time. "Did ya like it?" he asked shyly.

❝ Brooke nodded happily. She crawled over to him as the tent was to small for her to stand up. "It was excellent!" I said honestly and started to clap my hands. I couldn't believe I wasn't lonely anymore. I finally had someone that I could call my friend. I smiled happily at him.
