Ethan balled his fists, and tapped Topaz's shoulder softly, hoping she would turn around. Not hoping, praying, pleading that she would turn around.

Topaz felt a tap and slowly turned, her eyes opened with wonder and saw who it was. At first she expected David, or Andrew. Then she saw a guy, maybe the one reading the book from earlier. She had a sort of confused look and she tilted her head slightly, "hi" she said. She figured he thought she were someone else and he would just leave. But she waited silently.

Ethan took a deep breath and squared his shoulders, "I know we just met but-but would you like to go to the d-dance with me?" He said soft and slow, looking at her blue eyes. It was rude to not look at someone's eye when speaking to them... or was it a challenge when you did? he thought, wanting to punch his own face.
