Ok, really quick question. How much do you have to usually write to qualify as a Semi-Literate or Literate roleplayer?
I've been curious about this for a while and I've just now decided to ask.
I'm not really on anymore. I've found a better roleplaying site. I will still be on occasionally to reply to roleplays and adopt pets. If the owners of a roleplay want to free my spot up for another, you can go ahead and kick me. Just send me a pm telling me that.

front page of the thread wrote:QUALITY OVER QUANTITY
Don't pick your longest post ever if it is not a good example of your current work. When I say this, I want you to give me a good example! Too many applications have examples that the writer says "not my best. I usually write better," or something along these lines. I see this as lazy. Give me a good example please, and if I see anything written about your work is normally better I will not even look at your form.
GRAMMAR & SPELLING
It's a simple thing that should be second nature to all semi-lit+ writers. I don't want to see wrong tenses, incorrect punctuation, incorrect spelling, or any of that (I understand there may be a mistake every now and then; we are only human, after all).
SENTENCE STRUCTURE
Your writing should flow. Sentences shouldn't be overly long, and they shouldn't be unbelievably short. I'll be looking at your writing style, and you general mechanics. The number one no-no is I don't want your writing to sound mechanical/forced. It shouldn't sound like a children's book (Susie did this... Then Susie did this... Susie saw Bob and said hi...).

There's this too. It's not just length, but the sophistication of the sentences, the complexity and realism of the situations and characters, the readability, good grammar and spelling, using words accurately with a largish vocabulary... but usually, length is easiest to judge, so it's often based on that.

honestly i would consider myself at a rather high semi-lit / literate level and it's actually a challenge for me to write more than 2 bulky paragraphs for a rp, mostly because there comes a point where i feel i'm wasting everyone's time by writing about something inconsequential that doesn't add anything to the environment or the characters.
and if you're writing two paragraphs but have terrible grammar, spelling, etc., then personally, i consider that to be just as "illiterate" [idk why it's this term in particular but there you go] as a one-sentence response. /shrug

If it reads like a good book, it's literate? If it reads like a bad book that's nevertheless been published, it's semi-lit? If no one in their right minds would publish it, it's illiterate?

*shrug* I've always just gone by what's fun to read.

The Leopard Pups
Grey, Black and White. The world revolves and we go with it. Twisting in this everlasting monotony, eyes of green and gold, watching and waiting for our chance, our time. Cytor, Liliana, Serenade, Bayonet, the Prankster, the sweet one, the mother and the lost soul. There birth was a lost event, one in a million, two wandering souls met in the shadows, and these four were created. There pups are the stuff of legend, one lost there sight, one lost there path, one lost there love and the other? The other lost his family, everyone they cared about. He lost his family.
