BACKSTORY ON BOTH DRAGON AND RIDER
Family left her for dead in the woods shortly after the first snow had fallen and they did not think she was going to survive the winter. She was sick with the flu when they did so, and barely looked alive as it was. She fell down a small bluff and hit her head on a large stone, knocking her out. When she woke, the stone was radiating warmth and a small network of veins had laced across its surface. She held it tight to her stomach for relief of the cold and a large crack split its length. A burning sensation grew in her palm, and left a gleaming silver circle in its wake. A small silver animal now rested in her lap, cooing softly. Her illness melted away, and she never felt the winter's frozen bite again. She grew stronger as the dragon, Pícaro, grew larger. They wandered the forest until Pícaro was big enough to ride, and now wander across the whole of Alagaesia.
