Adrian remained still like a corpse, a very convincing one at that, considering the pale tone of his skin and heavy shadows under his eyes and the fact that he had no real use for breathing. He kept his mind quiet, as it was very calming after the frustrating ordeal from earlier.

Ellie stayed quiet. Her breath deep and slow as she looked around with the new blanket of snow. Her eyes fixed on the pure is white snow. A horrible thought crossed her mind as she froze. Feeling someone pinned her. She grunted and pulled out the gun and firing in their skull. An instant kill. She fired in the heart to make sure and started panting quickly.

Hearing yet another gunshot, Adrian opened his eyes, sitting up slowly and listening through the forest for any other sign of commotion.

Her breath was quick as a thin layer of sweat stayed on her head. "Maybe I should kill you more often.." She muttered under her panting breath. Putting the gun back in the thigh hostler, she continued her journey back to home base. One foot after the other, she forged ahead, finally reaching the safe grounds. Sitting down by the lit fire, she wrapped the dry blankets around herself and stared into the orange glow.
