Princess blinked slowly as her eyes struggled to focus on the printed words before her. Instead they seemed to shake and shiver off the page, taunting her. She fluttered her eyes, trying to bring herself back from the brink of sleep. She had to finish this book. It would help to turn the light on, but she daren't move. She might wake Catch, sprawled across her back sleeping. She begrudged her brother very little, but right now she was envious of his easy rest.
She had to finish this book, or she'd fail the assignment. She glanced at the clock. In less then four hours she'd be getting up and getting ready. Four hours. She couldn't fail this assignment. She was supposed to be clever.
"A bright young girl" they said.
She didn't feel very bright. She felt like sobbing at the hopelessness of the whole situation "But crying will make it no better" she whispered to herself, turning the next page. She had to finish this book. She had to keep up appearances.
She wished her mother would get better. She wished her father would come home. She wished Catch wasn't so boisterous, or she had less work, or more money, or...
That she could finish this book.

This was supposed to be a quick doodle of rule 63 Prince and Catch. Oops.
