Lizzie nodded. "Good," she said softly, keeping close. She'd lost him for what had felt like an eternity, and she wasn't about to let him slip away again.

Ryder woke up and came down the stairs from his room.

Lizzie exhaled slowly, then nodded a bit. "Yeah, I'm ready." She sat up and ran a hand through her hair, then stood. She held her hand out to help him up. "I guess we just really needed that."
