Isis
{{Fae||fighter||36||resting||

She sat silently among the falling ashes, her black and grey coat, covered in the same greyish white spots as everyone else, her lighter paws black from running through the black sludge of the burnt ground. She was thirsty, but at the moment was too absorbed in her own mind, to deal with that thirst. Her yellow eyes stay focused on the white and grey pup, he was 14 seasons old, he was the right age, the right sex, the right color even to be her son. His face and his bright intelligent eyes so much like her fathers. Kuolema, a name she never would of chosen, especially when he'd told her what it meant. She studied him as he walked among the pack. So much pent up energy, or perhaps it was a nervous tick much like his father.

She flashed to his father, how sweet and charming he'd been, She shook her head blinking at the sting of pain from her burned ear. She blinked and turned her focus back to the pup, with a soft sigh she watched him again, barley catching through the faint buzzing in her ears That the elder Lani, and the new comer Piolet were going hunting with what looked like Vali. She blinked slowly rising to her paws, shaking her body out she padded slowly heavily to the waters edge and began to drink slowly, once she'd drank her fill she padded back towards the group.

Subconciously she noticed that Resin had returned with Ahote and Attican, she thought she should turn and greet them, and she barley managed to make her body respond to that awkward slow thought. Too much, too much was happening, she blinked as she stared at Resin, Ahote and Attican, She watched Ahote lay down and go to sleep, she saw the burn on his hip, she turned her gaze to Resin studying the Alpha, the wound on her chest, the burns elsewhere, Attican just looked tired and as Lani greeted him then hurried off to hunt she struggled not to laugh as Attican curled up to sleep.

Yes, yes...sleep sounds good, She sighed softly and slumped down into the ashes curling around herself and soon drifted to sleep slipping into a dream of her small pup snuggled into her side, peaceful soothing deep sleep.

He blinked at Lokia's words suddenly understanding, Yes I agree, Attican may have an answer, He said rising to his feet. Please come with us, Attican will be able to find out why they are not at rest,. He seemed certain of this, he rose to his feet looking back one time at the white and black female before leaping easily down from the small pile of rocks and followed Hfran slowly through the crowd of the there, not there Wolves. He waved his tail as he noticed some had began to follow them.

yes, Attican can help you He said feeling certain of it, he picked up his pace to keep up with the larger black brute. Is everyone okay?" he asked. Did everyone make it through the sun beast? He asked walking along with the older brute looking up at him slightly.

~|Hrafn|~Hunter|~ 46 Summers|~

As they padded along and Mirage questioned him about the pack, Hrafn arched a brow. He'd just told him all of this, but perhaps he hadn't been listening. He was in a strange sort of trance-like state back there, afterall. Perhaps the smoke had done a number on the little guy. "Aside from Resin, Ahote and Attican, everyone is fine. Those three haven't returned yet, but I'm sure they'll be ok."

Getting back didn't take them as long as finding the pup had. Soon they reached the curve that led to the river. Upon reaching it, the huge black brute took the pups scruff gently between his teeth. The water was shallow enough here that Hrafn could cross and keep his paws on the ground, but Mirage would have struggled against the current. Padding into the water, the icy liquid soothed his burnt and cracked pawpads. That was the only thing nice about it. Holding his head high, he kept as much of Mirage out of the water as he was able to, though they both ended up getting a dousing.

Once they reached the other side, Hrafn sat the pup on dry land, then moved back a bit to shake the excess water from his dark coat. The clinging ash had made his coat a bit grey, but the water had washed most of it off. He still looked a fair deal better than the rest, especially the light colored wolves. Those with lighter coats looked purely filthy. He imagined that they couldn't wait to find some fresh snow to roll in. Looking again to Mirage, he spoke. "You should get some rest. We'll probably be leaving this place soon."

Most of the wolves were sleeping when he returned, so he moved quietly through them, reaching Xani's side. On his way, he noticed Resin and Ahote asleep beside one another. There was good news. Casting his gaze behind him, he found the sleeping form of Attican as well. Despite the bad luck of the day, they had all come out pretty much unscathed. No one was seriously injured. No one was dead.

Seating himself beside Xani, he spared a glance for the small male behind her, then shot the female a questioning look before shrugging and shaking his head lightly. "Mirage was saved by a lone female. I've invited her to come with us, but I'm not sure if she'll choose to or not. She seemed a little off. Not sick, but flighty, I suppose. A wandering mind." He took a moment to clean a speck of ash from the tip of his nose. "Other than a bit of a cough from the black clouds, Mirage is unharmed. He's lucky that she found him, otherwise I'm sure he would have been a goner."

Looking at her fully, he scrunched his brows together. "You look exhausted. Shall we do this again? I'm not tired and I'm more than capable of watching everyone while they sleep. If you'd like to close your eyes for a while, I'll take up guard duty." Whether she would sleep or not, he fully intended to help her watch. Despite how easy it seemed, it was a big job to watch so many wolves, especially when you were tired. Positioning himself with his back to the river, he faced the various piles of multicolored, dirtied fur, readying himself for duty.

Xani
- Female - 21 - Beta -

As Xani waited for Wolf to either speak again or simply lay down, movement caught her eye. Turning, her eyes widened a bit in joy. Her tail swished a bit as she recognized the forms of Mirage and Hrafn approaching, both seemingly fine. She made a movement to stand, but stopped when the large brute headed straight towards her. Knowing that he would speak with her, she turned and watched Mirage for a moment. He seemed alright, and a weight lifted itself from her. Everyone was safe.

Turning again, Xani took in Hrafn. He didn't seem any worse for wear, and was glad that he was alright. She noticed his questioning look, but didn't have time to answer before Hrafn spoke. A strange female had saved Mirage? Small favors, she supposed, were how they got by. She watched as he cleaned his nose, smirking slightly. However, the smirk fell away at the mention of sleeping. Shaking her head, she responded, "No, I'm alright for the time being. Perhaps later I'll take you up on the offer."

Glancing back at wolf, Xani just smiled before turning to Hrafn. "Hrafn, this is Wolf. He is the straggler that I ran off towards. Wolf, this is Hrafn." While she didn't want to go to sleep, Xani did shift herself so that she was lying down. She ruffled her face and feet in the snow, finally cleaning off almost all the soot from them. Her body she would worry about later.

((I hope you're keeping warm out there, Resin. That is bitterly cold.))

Lani
Female | 57 | Hunter
>>>–––———<•>———–––<<<

Running into what used to the forest with no thought on course or direction, Lani was simply running for joy. Paws high and she leapt through the ashes, she dodged the burnt stubs of trees and basically making a spectacle of herself before finally seeming to come to her senesces and stop her frolicking. Tongue flopped out the side of her mouth, she turned back to the other two hunters who seemed much more serious in their current venture. Vali looked positively miserable being stuck with her, and the white fea was quite possibly the reason for his stalwart and taciturn nature. After all, the two were regularly stuck together, both holding the same rank, and one really couldn't hope to get a word in edgewise with Lani when she was in the mood to talk. Still grinning from ear to ear, Lani looked them both over as though considering their options, then took a deep breath to steady herself, forcibly turning her mind to the task at hand. After all, no matter how happy she was that Attican was back, she was never going to find anything to eat by hopping around like a spring pup.

Careful to avoid putting her nose down, Lani began to search, setting a winding course that paced back and forth through the trees, head up and ears alert for anything else that moved around them. The burnt-out husk of forest was eerily silent around them, and nothing moved except the three hunters. The fine powder beneath their feet muffled their footfalls and ate up the sound of their breath, so it seemed as though their passing was erased as soon as their feet left the ground. Widening her search, Lani crisscrossed her own trail, making sure that they hadn't missed anything behind them when they made a turn.

Already starting to grow tired, she was just about to turn and ask the others if they had any other ideas when Pilot spoke up, seeming to be wondering the same thing. "Yeah I don't... Hey wait, what's that?" Lani said, suddenly becoming distracted in the middle of her sentence. Pushing between the others, she padded over to a blackened mass pressed up against a thick strand of trees. Whatever it had been was uncertain, but spindly hoofed legs stood up at odd angles and the strange scent of burned fur greeted her nose. Curious, she clawed at the burnt mess, and the cooked hide easily fell off, exposing the nicely browned meat underneath. The horror of what had happened to this animal is barely comprehensible, but Lani quickly put that out of her head. Whatever it was, it was definitely deader than dead, an if it was still good, would at least fead the pack.

Glancing over her shoulder, Vali scoffed at Lani, and shook his head. There was no way he was going near that thing, and even the assembled masses of the ancestors themselves couldn't make the stubborn brute move. Scoffing at his squeamishness, she decided that she was going to have to be the one to taste it and see if it was any good. Turning back to it, Lani bent down and bit into it. The cooked meat easily came off the bone, practically melting in her mouth. Licking her nose, she turned back to Pilot, "Well, it's definitely edible. A little odd, mind you, but not all that bad," she said, looking past Pilot's shoulder to the rest of the little clearing around them. "Let's spread out and see if we can find any more, and then we can take this back to the pack. I don't think it will be that heavy," she finished and sat back on her haunches, waiting to see if the other two would agree.

Wolf
Male | 20 | Straggler
>>>–––———<•>———–––<<<

Wolf smiled a bit at this Resinalpha when she welcomed him, inviting him to join them as they traveled south. It seemed as though she was in some sort os position of authority, at the very least, Xani seemed to respect her. So he nodded, bobbing his head once like a dipper bird, "Yes, thank you. I would like that very much," he said, suddenly excited at the prospect of being able to stay with them. If nothing else, it seemed as though he would finally have a conversational partner, someone to talk to who would talk back, and not just the groaning of the wind. Before he could say much more though, Resinalpha had sunk down to the ground next to her companion, and Wolf backed away. Really, he didn't want to intrude and they all seemed quite tired. Well, everyone except that noisy white fea who had since bounded out of sight.

Wondering what was next, Wolf turned to ask Xani, only to find that she had wandered off downstream. Now essentially alone and completely unsure of what to do with himself, Wolf sat back on his haunches, looking over the fluffy bodies that had hunkered down around him. There were so many of them, and each one with their own voice and mind and thoughts. He wondered what each one was thinking, and if they would all talk with him at some point. It was simply remarkable, and he sincerely wished that they had come across him sooner.

Lost in thought, Wolf didn't even notice Xani's approach and he startled when he heard her quiet voice from behind him. Turning back to look at her, he nodded, "In a little while I think... There is just so much to think about, and my mind will not let me be. But if you'll have me, I would be glad for a bit of... Company," he said, taking a moment to come up with the right word. Not that he had really be worried about the others, as Wolf was by nature more curious than fearful, but it was nice to know that she was looking out for him.

A few moments later, another large male returns and Wolf looks up as he splashes across the river, carrying what appears to be a young one in his mouth. He promptly sets the little one free and makes his way over to where they sit. Both wolves were as black as the forest around him, and he first thought that they must have been burned like the trees, but quickly dismissed it. They both seemed to be fine, and he knew firsthand that the touch of the light was quite painful, so the dark fur must simply be their natural coloration. Xani seemed pleased by his return at least, and that meant that this one too must be part of the pack, and he looked up at them curiously as they talked. It was starting to seem to him that sleep was some sort of precious commodity among them, as there had been many gracious offers even during his short time here. Were only some allowed to sleep at certain times, or was this mere courtesy to offer? There was no time for questions though, as soon after the offer was given, Xani was introducing him.

Stepping forward, Wolf nodded to Hrafn, "Nice to meet you..." he said, trailing off. He had been introduced so many times today, he really wasn't sure what to say anymore. Next to him, Xani laid down in the soft snow, and he did the same, laying next to his much larger companions. There was so much he wanted to ask them, but somehow, this didn't seem like the right time. Everyone else was tired and had stilled themselves, letting a hush come over the pack. For now, Wolf would stay quiet, stewing in his own thoughts until the others seemed more willing to speak. After all, he had been perfectly capable of entertaining himself for years, what was a few more hours?

((It's difficult. Our house is surrounded on three sides by huge empty fields. The wind whips right across and makes this house cold cold cold! Luckily we have loads of blankets, a hell of a furnace and kitties to keep us warm.)) ((( Check THIS out!)))

~|Hrafn|~Hunter|~ 46 Summers|~

The odd wolf introduced himself as Wolf and Hrafn cocked his head to the side, but shrugged. It wasn't his place to judge someone's name. "Nice to meet you as well, Wolf. Good to have you with us." With a smile and a thump of his tail, he sprawled upon his stomach, stretching out his toes in the process. "You've been alone for a while?" He assumed so, judging by the small stature of the brute. Nothing that a little bit of food couldn't fix. He'd only known the wolf for a few moments, but Hrafn had a very good feeling about him. Perhaps it was his unassuming personality or the way that he held himself, but the massive black brute liked the smaller male almost immediately.

Looking back up to Xani who had just cleaned her face, he laughed lightly. A chunk of crispy leaf stuck to her ear and he leaned forward, using his nose to flick it off before settling back. "It feels good to have everyone safe and whole." Despite all that had happened over the past few days, Hrafn was in a lovely mood. The constant stress and worry was gone leaving his disposition no way to go but up.

Turning, he looked over the piles of wolves once more. Everyone napped or spoke quietly. He knew that they would head out soon. They needed to find shelter and game. The larger, tougher wolves would be ok out in the open, but the stressful events had left the pups and the elderly vulnerable to the elements. They all needed lots of food, lots of sleep, and lots of relaxation. His thickly furred black tail swished behind him involuntarily and he lowered his blocky head to his paws.

~|Resin|~Alpha Female|~ 40 Summers|~

Though her body ached for rest, her mind refused to shut down. Grumbling, she peeled herself from Ahote's side and pulled herself to a seated position. Her mind was foggy and pleaded for sleep, but she didn't think she could force herself to comply. Rising, she padded slowly past Hrafn, Xani and Wolf, head lowered and brow furrowed. "I'll be back." Maybe she simply needed to exhaust herself further before sleep claimed her.

Though the wound in her chest was tight and pulled when her stride was too long, it didn't hurt as it once had, nor did it bleed. Once she was away from the sleeping wolves, she took off at a quick lope, avoiding any smoking debris that she knew would still be hot to the touch. Through the destroyed forest she ran, leaping this and that until she came to a wide path of snow that lead down into the valley where the sun had first come to earth. Something below caught her eye and curiosity got the better of her.

Slinking slowly through the trees, her black and grey coat helping her blend into the burnt surroundings, she moved down the edge of the snow path until she reached the lower valley. Crouching low, she used a blackened pine as cover. Bright yellow eyes widened as she discovered just what she had seen up above. A pack of two-legged beasts were milling about the burned area, picking at this and that. Resin flicked her dark ears forward, catching the harsh barking calls that they made to one another. Bad. She didn't know what they were, but she knew that they were bad. Each had a straight, sharpened stick in it's hand which looked perfect for piercing the hides of animals. One of them prodded the dead, blackened form of a deer that the sun had left behind.

The back of her mind tingled and she remembered. In the vision that showed blood and dead wolves, she had seen these two-leggers. They were the reason that her pack perished. Resin didn't fear much at all, but fear surged through her body and she couldn't move, couldn't breathe. She wasn't sure how long she stayed there, but in an instant she snapped out of it and took off, running back up the hill as fast as she could manage. Behind her, she could hear the barking exclamations of the two legged animals. To confuse them, she tore across the white clearing, running in the opposite direction from the pack of sleeping wolves.

In a zigzagging pattern, she ran through the trees, backtracking now and again. The animals seemed smart, so she didn't want to leave them a clear trail. When she could, Resin leaped atop fallen trees, balancing til she they could no longer hold her weight. Once she was sure that it would take a while for anything to track her, she dashed back towards the resting wolves, her large paws carrying her quickly across the land. Not bothering to be quiet, she skidded to a stop in the center of them. "Everyone up. We're leaving NOW."

(That is pretty awesome...)

Xani
- Female - 21 - Beta -

As Xani lay there, she felt Wolf lie down near her. She smiled slightly as she then felt Hrafn lie on her other side. It was like she was the middle of a sandwich, but their warmth was rather nice. It was mainly Hrafn's fault that she was becoming used to physical contact. She was almost starting to like it. Though she was comfortable, she remained awake, scanning the group. As she felt something flick her ear, she turned to glance at Hrafn.

Giving him a weird look, Xani just shook her head. "Yes, it does. And the thought of food sounds so lovely... I hope they all find something good." She glanced once more at Wolf. He definitely needed a meal, but being a loner was a hard life. Suddenly, movement caught her eye. Resin stood and walked by, saying that she would be back. The beta nodded, unsure of whether Resin saw or not. Resin seemed worried, but Xani had no idea why. They were safe and together.

It was a while before Resin returned, but as soon as she did, it was apparent something was wrong. Xani leapt up instantly at the command, giving a confused look to her Alpha. "What's going on? Is the beast back?" She suddenly froze. "Lani, Vali and Pilot are out hunting. I told them to stay close, but I'm not sure where they are. Should we call for them or should I just go get them?" She had no idea what was so urgent, but she couldn't leave them behind.

~|Resin|~Alpha Female|~ 40 Summers|~

Again she called to the sleeping wolves. "Everyone up. NOW." Seeing the confusion on Xani's face, Resin took a moment out to pull her aside. Once they were away from the rest of the groggy, grumpy wolves, she spoke in a low whisper. "A new danger approaches." Resin wasn't sure how much Xani knew about the reason of their travels South, so she would reiterate. "We are traveling South because the ancestors have promised us a better life in a forest of red leaves. I have been given visions on more than one occasion dealing with our journey. Something is coming. We will have to choose the right path or the beasts that I just laid eyes upon will be the death of us all." The dark female turned her head away, the last bit was meant only for herself. "All but me."

Shaking her head, she stared hard into Xani's eyes. "We have to get as far away from these two-leggers as we can. Though I have never seen them before this, I know that they are more dangerous than ten suns come to earth." Again she shook her head, trying to clear the cobwebs away. "We need to get them up and get them ready to move immediately. Ahote and Attican will be the hardest to get going. The Keeper is exhausted and Ahote has injuries." Not wanting to waste any more time, she motioned with her head and they moved back into the throng of furred bodies. Most of them had risen, but a few needed another reminder as to the urgency of her command.

"Those of you that don't rise now will be in for a world of hurt." The Alpha's voice came out in a low growl, the threat true and quite obvious. Though they shot her dirty looks, the last of the wolves rose and prepared to leave. Though she didn't look at her, she spoke to Xani. "I'll need you to lead again. Ahote won't be able to move fast and he needs a shoulder to lean on when he walks." When Xani reminded her of Pilot, Lani and Vali, she growled anew. Nothing was ever easy... "Howling is out of the question. They'll hear it and find us faster. We'll try to find them on our way, if we don't run into them, I'll send Hrafn out. I need you here."

With that final statement, she turned and moved to Attican, rousing him gently with her nose until she was sure that he was awake. "Danger follows us like a plague. This is urgent. We need to move now." Not waiting for the words to sink in, she hurried to Ahote and did the same to him, prodding him with her nose until his eyes fluttered open. "The world seems to be punishing us for something. We need to go and we need to hurry." Still she prodded at him, making sure he stayed conscious. "Up. Up, Ahote. I'll stay by your side and help you." True to her word, as she sent Xani forward, she stood, though her paws were itching to move, and waited for him to situate himself.

~~..: Azaria::.5 years.::Pup/hunter in training.::With the pack:..~~

Azaria could barley contain herself upon Resin's return but the sight of Mirage and Hfran's return brought her happiness to a while new level, she barley noticed the long legged white and grey wolf that followed them. With a squeal of delight she bounded away from her playmates and threw herself at Mirage, nipping at licking at the lightly older male's face. Before backing off quickly, when he nuzzled her telling her he was tired. She watched him find a place to sleep, then she turned to see what was going on, only to see others were curling up to sleep, that some had left to go hunt. She let out a huff of air and shrugged off the Tan male pup who was trying to come back to play.

Finally the tan pup returned to its brother and she could hear the two males playing behind her. A small urge to join them filled her, but she pushed it away, watching the other's sleep she got up and trotted over to Ahote who was sleeping like the dead itself. With a soft whine she lay down, snuggling into the older male's side licking gently at the top of his head watching for Resin to come back. She wasn't tired, nor was she hungry, she was just worried. She was dozing lightly in the warmth of the older male, when Resin came back. With the first words from the Alpha's mouth she was on her feet.

When Resin came to them, and began speaking to Ahote, she licked her lips. "I can help you as well Ahote, She said gently looking to Resin. The more the merrier right? She asked wagging her tail just a little. strength in numbers and all right?

~~..:Lokia.::45 Years.::Loner.:: alone:..~~

The young black wolf could see them, they followed him, so she followed them, silently not a word passed from her lips as she followed behind the two black wolves. Back to the same pack that she'd only just left behind yesterday. Flicking her ears she did not join the group, watching as a young red female threw herself upon the black male, but hurried away almost instantly to and older male who appeared to be injured. She watched the elders come and go the Alpha come and go.

She lay down in the dirty snow, shivering a bit at the cold on her underbelly, watching this pack silently, but what she saw was her own pack wandering about among them. Though her own pack was small in numbers, only about 7 now, some had found the path to the ancestors but these few had remained, they needed help to see they were dead. She sighed letting her head rest upon her paws, and then she jerked her head up as The Alpha returned fear burning through the dark body as it ordered everyone to their feet.

She rose easily, she was most likely the best rested of this pack, it had obviously come a long way and lost much. With a soft whine she studied her kin as they swirled around her, rubbing their non corporeal body against her's. They would stay with her for now. She waited for the pack to start moving, she would follow behind.

~~::.Kavic/49/male/Hunter/

The massive white wolf lifted his head from under his tail at Resin's words. With a large yawn he rose to his feet shaking out his coat, which was filthy from running from the sun beast, he shook himself again clicking his jaws together, as he listens to orders. Tilting his head in concern for his fellow hunters he sniffs the air, smelling nothing but that acid like smell that burned his nose. With a grumble he pads to the edge of the pack trying again to catch the scent of Lani and the others but smelling nothing still. He flicks his ears back listening as Resin orders everyone on their feet and now.

He turns back trotting to her side easily. My Alpha, He said bowing his head lightly. Allow me to go in search of Lani, Vali and Piolet, He said gently. "I've been resting, Hfran is tired and will still be so once we reach saftey again, He said gently.

((OMG That is the most awesome snowman ever! Did you make it?))

Ahote
Male | 46 | Fighter
>>>–––———<•>———–––<<<

Ahote didn't move a muscle when Resin left his side and wandered away from the pack once more. Had he been conscious, he surely would have worried for her safety, but as it was, he was too far gone to notice. Not even the return of Hrafn and Mirage, nor the pup Azaria when she came to snuggle with him, was enough to wake him. It was only when Resin returned, calling for everyone to wake, that her voice cut through his sleep and his ears flicked, as though he heard her only from a great distance. Muttering under his breath, he shifted his legs beneath him but still did not rise. Only with Resin's gentle and insistent prodding did he actually open his eyes, staring up at her blearily.

For a long time, Ahote just lay there, looking up at Resin without lifting his head as though he didn't understand what was going on. Up. She wanted him up. Up where? There was no way the burnt trees along the riverbank were going to support his weight. Wait, since when has she been so tall? No… Resin wasn't that tall. At her best she was just about his height. That thought brought him around to the fact that he was probably laying on the ground and she didn't want him to go up, but rather get up. With a groan, he finally lifted his head and slowly put his feet up underneath him. Letting out a bit of a whine as his burns pulled tight across his side, he tucked his paws up under him as far as they would go, arching his back as he found his balance. Looking back to Resin, he finally spoke, his voice rough and hoarse from the smoke, "What… What's wrong?" he asked. Even in his befuddled state he could tell from Resin's tone that something was very, very wrong.

Somewhere below, the voice of Azaria floated up to him, and Ahote smiled a bit, looking down on the pup he hadn't even realized was there. "That's right, Azaria," he said, glancing to Resin, and noting just how anxious she was to be moving. "But I have a mission for you, can you run up to Xani and tell her to keep moving south? The pack must stay with her, and I'll never catch her now," he said gently, and bent down to lick her on the forehead. Ahote honestly feared that should the pup try to assist him, that he might fall on her and squash her. Besides which, he wanted her up close to there others where she would be safe. However, at the same time he hated to discourage her willingness to help, and hoped that the little task would be enough to see her moving in the right direction.

Steading himself, Ahote took a few steps, and found that the earth was indeed steady beneath his feet. He was thoroughly exhausted, and every inch of him either ached with overuse or burned like sin, but the little bit of rest he had gotten was at least enough for his head to begin to clear. Looking back to Resin, he nodded, "Alright… I think I'm ready," he said, fully trusting her decision to leave, and complaint never once even crossing his mind.

Wolf
Male | 20 | Straggler
>>>–––———<•>———–––<<<

Sitting comfortably in the snow, Wolf looked back to Hrafn when he began to speak with him, his tail thumping a couple of times behind him. He was more than happy to talk, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity for him to get in a few more words. "Yeah, I guess I have been, well forever I guess. At least I've never met anyone else who could talk before," he said in a chipper voice, looking between the two large wolves. However, before they could answer, the one called Resinalpha suddenly reappeared, looking as though she were beset by shadows. Startled, he hopped up to he feet as well, nowhere near as tired as the rest of the pack and practically spun in circles trying to hear everything that was going on around him.

Xani was up, asking what was going on, Hrafan immediately ran off to get everyone else up, and now Resinalpha was running around threatening everyone to get up or else. Ears pinned back behind his head, he had absolutely no idea what to do, and suddenly felt as if he was very much in the way. Falling back on his previous course, he glued himself to Xani's side, following the Beta around like a scruffy shadow.

Even as Xani went to find Resinalpha where she was helping the large brute up to his feet again, he followed her, peering out from under her legs at the wolves on the other side of her. Oh yeah, he had almost forgotten about the loud white fea and the other two who had gone off to 'hunt'. They had yet to return, and it seemed as though Xani was worried they would not be able to find them if they moved. Which was a good point, he guessed, as he had next to no clue where they were now, let alone if they began to move. It seemed as though Wolf's little world was getting bigger by the moment, and his mind was racing just trying to take it all in. Before he even realized it, Xani had offered to go looking for the others. He had no idea what that meant, but he would go with her if she would let him. At least hovering around at her side made him feel like be was doing the right thing.

Xani
- Female - 21 - Beta -

As Xani listened to Resin speak, she nodded. There were more beasts? By the way she spoke, it was obvious that it was not another sun beast. The beta could not think of anything else that was worse than what the pack had experienced earlier, but it was obviously more dangerous. Resin turned and muttered something that Xani did not hear, but she didn't have time to probe for it. As the alpha continued, she paused. Two-leggers? Surely she didn't mean birds, unless they were a very strange, large bird.

Xani shook her head slightly. She could worry about what they were later, once they were all safe. She trotted along behind Resin, helping her rouse the rest of the pack. When they saw who was waking them, they were more willing to wake up. Turning back to Resin, she nodded. Leading seemed to be more natural to her the more she did it. However, at the mention of Hrafn leading, she almost spoke out against it. Having Hrafn around made it better and easier, but he would be good for searching out the hunting party. At that moment, Kavic offered to hunt instead. Secretly, she hoped that Resin would agree to that.

Trotting back to the front of the pack, Xani had to force herself to remember not to howl. Once she was in the front, she turned. Her voice was loud enough for all to hear, but no louder than Resin's call had been. "I will once again be running lead. This time, we must be silent. The sun beast couldn't hear us, but this is different. Please be silent and swift." With that, she nodded and scanned the crowd. Everyone was awake except Attican and Ahote, but Resin was in charge of them at this point. Turning, she started off at a trot, gradually picking up speed until she was moving rather quickly.
