He was weary. Infinitely weary. Though he ran before his comrades on tireless feet, speeding ahead as if racing with the wind, his heart was heavy and seemed to drag him down to the ground. For three days the Three Hunters had toiled, searching every nook and cranny they came upon, but save for the blackened trail of the Uruks' feet there were no signs of Merry and Pippin's kidnappers, nor of the hobbits themselves. He had started out on this venture, quite optimistic that they would find the hobbits and slay the orcs without too much trouble, but alas, it seemed that naïveté had overruled him and that his hopes were in vain. No signs of the cheerful young perian had been seen. They could've been already dead for all that they knew.

Legolas slowed his fleeting run to a jog, then a walk, and finally to a stop upon an overhanging rock. He gazed out over the country; this was the territory of the Horse-lords, the people of Rohan. Even though they came as allies and not enemies, Legolas did not particularly like Rohan much, as the Rohirrim distrusted elves and thought them as witches. The horsemen would be kind enough to mortal strangers, but they could prove hostile to elves. Legolas pushed these thoughts away and scanned the grasslands, searching for any signs of the Uruks. To his delight, their speed had rewarded them; the small but unmistakably clear figures of the Orcs pounded many leagues before them, but at least he could see them. To his puzzlement, however, there weren't only the figures of Orcs; there seemed to be some large group of people fighting the spawns of Mordor.

"The Uruks are turning northwest," he called back to Aragorn and Gimli. His keen eyes narrowed. "They seem to be taking the Hobbits to Saruman. And I see something else, too; some large company of folk dressed strangely. They seem to be fighting the Orcs."

"We should hurry we will lose them if we are not careful" Aragorn said and added " come lets hunt some orc and see if we can't help the group you see" Aragorn said heading in direction that orcs where going

"Dwarves are natural sprinters you know" Gimli said running after aragorn



Saelweth had fallen behind in group she was alone and seperated from rest of group she was fighting an orc who seemed be to have the advantage of strength as she seemed to be having trouble killing him he had knocked her too the ground her horse ran off towards legolas the horse was frightened obviously it seemed to be a white arabian horse.

((o.O i couldn't help adding the whole line from the movie where gimli says dwarves are natural sprinters.))

Legolas nodded tersely and let Aragorn take the lead this time, slowing down his pace a trifle to allow the heir of Gondor pass before him. He smiled slightly at Gimli's remark and patted the dwarf on the back, half in mock comfort, half in encouragement.
"Let us see the legendary endurance of the Dwarves, then, shall we?" he smirked, pushing Gimli before him.

They were nearing the battle with every step they took. The sounds of orcs snarling, cries of pain and the clashes of steel rang through Legolas's ears and he shook his head irritatedly to clear it. Unexpectedly, he watched as a nearby being - it looked like an elf, though he had not seen such a foreign-looking elf before - get knocked off their horse, and the frightened steed turned tail from the orc and fled right to Legolas, though he easily caught the animal, allowing his friends to hurry on ahead.

"Calm, mellon bain," he murmured, and whispered a few more elvish words till the horse calmed and furry ears pricked upright again. Legolas quickly straddled the horse's reins, ordering the white arab to stay in place, while he swiftly drew his long knife and hurried over the other fallen elf, quickly dispatching the orc atop the elf.

Saelweth stood quickly she had what looked to be an arrow shaft stuck in her legs she quickly bent down and removed it which probably wasn't a good idea s the tip was laced in poison but she didn't exactly know that she was bleeding from her side and appeared to have multiple injuries her armor cracked in some places it looked liek it had seen better days her weapons where a bit dulled but other wise still deadly

Legolas quickly motioned for the strange she-elf to stay down. "You are wounded, stay here," he murmured, glancing around swiftly for Aragorn. Where was that errant human when one needed him? Legolas did know a trivial bit of healing, but he had no supplies at the moment and already he could see orcs approaching them, evil eyes agleam and swords being bared. Lust for elven blood shone in their gazes and Legolas inwardly shuddered. He unshouldered his bow and drew back the string to full draw, glancing back at the elf.

"Can you walk? You must leave this place and return to your company," he queried as he smoothly let an arrow fly. It hit its expected target, of course, straight through the forehead of an orc, but two others took their fallen comrade's place. The two of them were almost completely surrounded, but Legolas could still see a few important gaps in their ranks.

He released another arrow and again glanced back at the elven woman. "You must flee!" he insisted, desperation growing in his voice. "Go and run now, and I can hold them back."

"I could not get away if I tried" she said looking at legolas


Aragorn swiftly slashed his way into the orcs with gimli's help of course the pair where managing to make a dent and seemed to have the group that legolas spotted charging from the other side they seemed to be helping

Vanya quickly ran down some orcs although she wasn't the only one doing that it seemed that the commotion had attracted a group of rohirric riders Eomer and his eored soon came charging down from a hill
