Showname Info wrote:A showname is a longer name that is used for showing purposes, and it sometimes can 'match' the call name. For example, my dog's name is Cricket and her showname is Cricket's Song. Later, if you decide to start a kennel for your nannucks, you can put a prefix on the showname (ex. Flight's Hatee-Hatee-Ho "Fox")
prefix showname call name

Story: I remember the first time I went to a conformation show. I had NO idea what was happening! First my owner just picks my leash up and puts me in the car and we are driving! But we arrived to a place that I had never EVER seen before! Then my owner walks me into a building filled with barking Nannucks and different interesting smells! My owner lead to a table where I jumped on immediately after she put a treat on it. Then she hooked my collar onto something that wouldn't let me jump off of the table. Then! You won't believe what happened! She tried to clip my nails! I need my nails! I fought against her but in the end she clipped them. But that wasn't the worst of it! After she finished 'grooming' me she led me off the table and into a ring where there were at least ten other Nannucks and a really loud announcer. When the announcer pointed at me my owner lead me up to him. He lifted my jaw and my ears up, and then felt around my back and legs. I didn't like it! But something told me that if I squirmed, my owner might get mad at me. After that, my owner started running and that's when I got excited! I ran in front of her, pulling on the lead as hard as I could to get her to run faster! But she yanked me back! Why would she start running and stop all of a sudden! It just wasn't fair! She turned around and looked at the announcer who shook his head 'no' and I could tell my owner was sad. My owner flicked the lead in her direction and I followed her out of the ring, head and tail low. And when I walked by all of the other Nannucks they either laughed at me or shook their heads disappointingly. When my owner and I got back to the kennel I tried to cheer her up by doing tricks for her because I felt bad. But I could tell that she wasn't mad, or sad. She was happy! But why?! I thought that I disappointed her! My owner started laughing! Finally she looked at me and said, "Don't worry boy, we will do better next time!" . Next time?! There will be a 'next time'?!-.-
Sorry it is so long...
