hmm,her ma's lemon bars!Minnie Annie Alens
Perhaps when you were little, you fibbed. I remember being told to "keep my imagination in check" alongside my tongue. Well, the curious case of a young miss Arrie brought about little Minnie Alens.
A young girl, growing up in her home and on her ranch, grew lonely. So a simple little game was formed in her head; where's Minnie? It was something of a guessing game and hide-and-seek. Arrie would prance around, calling out for a Minnie Alens to come out and play. She'd place stuffed animals in her home, eyes closed, and try to find this "Minnie".
The peculiar thing is how the game progressed... the young girl, about Arrie's age, had seen her neighbor playing in the yard, calling out for a Minnie. Annie and Minnie weren't all that different, now were they? The lonely girls met outside one night, Annie calling herself Minnie... a shy girl finds it easiest to fill the role of someone else.
But the mother was concerned when she's ask little Arrie where she'd gone. "Off to Minnie's, ma! We went down to the pond and played"
"Now Arrie, you know the rule, don't go down to the pond by yourself"
"But I wasn't..."
And so it would go on. Minnie stayed hidden, she's a smart girl, but slowly forgot to pretend. She went home less and less often, her own lapsing parents starting to worry. So she ran away, became the little girl's imaginary friend. The illusion became real for her, luckily PFS was already a part of her; growing old and realizing what she had lost, what she gave up to become this person, would crush her.
