I pad over to amberpine, her beauty overwhelming me.
I lick her swiftly on the cheek and sit down next to her.

" I wish I could fly" she said softly after feeling the gentle lick as she stared out at the geese that where flying into the sunset.

"We better hurry then!" mewed Little Bird sprinting to the door of her fathers cave.

"Could you possibly give it a rest for a minute and join us for a evening hunting patrol?" Stormysky called teasingly.

"Okay" Diamond sprinted after her sister.

"Okay, let's get going"" Drifted Snow smiled.

"Father?" Little Bird called sticking her head inside the cave. "Come in" called a weak mew. Little Bird and Diamond came in. "Are you okay?" Little Bird asked worriedly. "No, I am not," said the elderly brown tabby in the corner. "and that is why you are all here." He gestured to all 7 cats crowded inside the cave. "My children, you have come here to discuss the matter of succession."

"Well, what are we waiting for?" Stormysky called as he walked out of camp. He breathed in the crisp winter air and headed up the steep ravine and into the woods.
