Kivuli's feet hit the grass above the embankment with extreme force. He pulled him body over the clods of dirt then settled himself before shaking out his dark mane. He stretched again, digging his claws into the earth and opening his mouth into a gaping yawn of tongue and teeth. After recovering his composure he looked back around to Mali and Jenny.

Aibu huffed. The heat beat down on her pelt, and she stretched on the dirt trying to cool off. Her cub, Shida played with a twig nearby. "Shida, you should conserve your energy, the sun is hot." She said, watching her cub pounce on the twig.

Shida glanced up from his game. "Mom, honestly, I'm not going to dehydrate that fast," he muttered. But he left his stick and settled down beside her. "We always have to get water at night," he muttered under his breath.

Mali was looking at him, purring with laughter. "Why did you do such a silly thing like that?" She looked around, to see if anyone else was around.
