well i think there was something about it i saw, i cant remember exactly what they said, but there were some theories going around like this
Kano secretly hates Shintaro; perhaps he somehow found out through Seto some of Shintaro's thoughts, and learned that Shintaro thought it was his fault Ayano died, so he wanted revenge on him. I think this is only a possibility in route XX, and if you're wondering how either of them would know in that route since they never meet, Seto and Kano both PROBABLY know all of the routes
And then i think i saw another, were Kano realizes part of the reason they are reaching bad ends is because Shintaro can not move on, perhaps Shintaro's lack of acceptance that his best friend is dead is resulting in dead ends in some way, so he deceives Shintaro into thinking he became Ayano
The only thing that doesnt make sense about Kano being Ayano is route 01, is that Ayano gave Shintaro her scarf and eye ability when he went there, and im pretty sure its canon that Ayano did end up in the heat haze, and its also canon that Shintaro went to the heat haze too. Even if they didnt meet, you can only have one eye ability, so Kano couldnt have given him one
Also, can someone link me to the chapter were Kano becomes Ayano, that chapter hadnt been translated while i was readying it uwu itll help me understand the Kano/Ayano theory
Another thing, is Azami cant be Ayano, she has her own past, her own love, its canon the Mary is her grandaughter, perhaps Ayano became something like Azami in the heat haze, but she cant be Azami herself :c
