His stomach rumbled loudly, for even his mother to hear. He folded his ears embarrassed. "Mommmmm..." He looked at the queen and smiled. "I am hungry. Can I go to the-" He looked out towards the fresh-kill pile but which looked nearly empty. He didn't complain, for he was born into the season where food was always short, and was completely used to it. He simply looked at his mother and shook his head, a simple, 'nevermind.'
