((I haven't gone through all of your posts since there's just so much stuff to read through, so correct me if I get a detail wrong. I'm kind of confused about who's in the hunting party, and who's doing the eating in the Western Forest, though, since I don't think I picked up on any of that in the past couple pages.))
With the wolves of his pack scattered amongst themselves, Kade had found himself with a distinct lack of company since he'd woken. As such, he currently strode through the camp, proud head held high as he scanned the vicinity for someone to spend the day with, his trademark swagger marking each step. Such a strut coming from the alpha of the pack might normally discourage anyone from approaching him, but the wolves of the Eastern Shore were used to such behavior from him. It was, he knew, a subject of disapproval, especially from the other two packs. His youth and relative inexperience, combined with the arrogance that was so great it leaked into his every movement, was reason enough for many to believe that the old alpha should have put the beta as his successor, as was the tradition anyway.
Speaking of Delano...
Kade made a beeline for the other wolf's den. He didn't exactly expect him to be there as most of the other wolves seemed to be out and about, but as luck would have it, Delano seemed to just have gotten back, as was evidenced by the sea hawk he was currently skinning. "That poor bird," Kade remarked as he stepped in, not bothering with a greeting. "What did it ever do to you to deserve such treatment?"
